We'll be up at the crack of dawn tomorrow to head to Fredericton (little over an hour away) to help out with Cat Rescue Maritimes Fredericton chapter's TNR spay/neuter clinic! We're bringing 2 other girls down with us to help and quite a few from the Saint John chapter are going to help out. I have never been a part of one, as all of the Saint John vets are ridiculous and basically refuse to help out most rescue organizations in the area. (They're more about the money than they are fixing the insane overpopulation issue Saint John has.)

We'll be helping out before and after the actual procedures, with helping the kitties recover, clean up, etc. I'll be taking lots of pictures as well.
Then after the clinic we're all going out to lunch before stopping in a Petsmart to stock up for the kitties! Should be a really great day!

If anyone is interested in what ca-r-ma (Cat Rescue Maritimes) is all about, you can go to http://www.ca-r-ma.org .

That does sound exciting.  I hope that you are able to help lots and lots of kitties.

WHAT an experience! Seriously! Never seen ANYTHING so organized and well put together, it was like a well oiled machine. Everyone had their purpose, and were instantly told what they were doing once they arrived. Dana was lugging all of the cats in their transfer cages to where they would wait to be anesthetized, then transfer them back downstairs after recovery to wait to be released back to their colonies. I was cleaning out the cages when cats were being sexed (already asleep because they're all feral) and checked over for wounds, fleas, mites and other issues.

I saw SO MANY beautiful cats! 69 were spayed/neutered today! SOME were domesticated enough to be fostered and adopted out but many were released back out into controlled colonies.

We then went to Petsmart and got SO MUCH food to last the kitties quite some time! Great sales!

The next clinic in Fredericton is in May. Can't wait to do it all over again, even though we're absolutely exhausted!

Had an oppurtunity to do a clinic but turned it down cause I feel its to risky to my cats.  Something I wanted to do for a long time.

Glad it went well thats alot more happier cats on streets and alot not even born to know the streets and stress

What a fantastic day.
And it sounds like the efficiency made everything go so quickly.

Here are some pics!

My hunny & I at the clinic.

The kitties in "recovery".

A beautiful little girl ready to be spayed.

Some boys waiting to be neutered.

How STUNNING are these girls?!?

Unfortunately I just found out that one of the cats, a beautiful little orange tabby female, didn't make it and passed away last evening.
I'm so sorry precious girl, we tried our very best to help you...

It really was an amazing day! Here's hoping the vets in SJ get their heads out of their behinds and get something going here. There is SUCH a need, but they're all about the money here for the most part unfortunately.

Ww, Kailie.....what an amazing feeling to be part of something so wonderful. Of course it would be even more wonderful if these spay/neuter clinics weren't needed.

Im so sorry one of the girls passed away, how heartbreaking
