Hello, sorry for the late evening post, my days are blending together.

I am wondering, when you are feeling down and out, sad, depressed, etc.

What cheers you up? What do you do to help pull yourself out of the negative feelings?

Hmm...  It depends on the day I guess.  Sometimes just making one of my favorite lunches helps.  (Think grilled cheese or some kraft macaroni and cheese! Yum!)  Sometimes I'll watch something that will make me laugh and is pointless.  Shows like Americas Funniest Home Videos or Whos Line is It Anyway? are great for that to me.  Other times curling up with a good book and taking a mini-mental vacation helps wonders!  Especially if I have warm, purring kitty in my lap!

Far too often lately it has been alcohol. I had to seriously cut back.


So instead I go for snuggling with the kitties, both my own and the fosters, or I spend money. LOVE to shop, lol.

Depends on the cause of "the blues".  A good, long walk works wonders sometimes, especially if I can walk at dusk and it's a drizzly day.  (that's also a great cure for headaches)  If I can get my mind focused on something---especially crafting or gardening, something that keeps my hands busy---that can be a big help.  I love to lose myself in music, usually Celtic tunes.  If all else fails, a good cry makes me feel better.

This seems kind of silly but I go to YouTube and watch some of those home made comedy, do it yourself or make up videos....it really helps to watch other positive people who are doing something constructive ...or visit message boards like tcs. I basically just try to find positive like minded people and absorb their positive energy. It's easier to do on the Internet than real life,people in real life are way more unpredictable and can sometimes make u even more depressed
