Phoebe just took a drink of my iced white chocolate mocha!!

She always sniffs at it and never seemed to hate the smell... Unlike the others.  But, today as I was finishing up homework, Phoebe dived in and took a drink of my iced white chocolate mocha!!  "No no Phoebe." I said to her.  Trying to stay calm.  I didn't want her to think she was in trouble.  I promptly got on the phone with Doc A... "It didn't hurt her.  It was just a sip.  Don't worry." he said with a laugh..."My cat sneaks drinks of my coffee sometimes, too!  He is never harmed.  A sip doesn't kill them... A whole cup... Different story."  He finished. 

Oddly enough, she didn't seem to hate it?  In fact, she seemed to like it!  I will be keeping the lid on for safety from now on! 

I was going to say it might have something to do with the chocolate in the mocha, but you said white chocolate which is mostly vanilla. I know my cats will try to eat and drink whatever I do regardless of what it is. My cats have taken nibbles of everything from steak to pizza and one of my cats sipped some Mountain Dew that had spilled on the floor. Actually, one of my cats' favorite foods is ranch dressing. I have to carefully watch all plates that I squeeze ranch onto as a dipping sauce, because my little ninjas will come sneaking up for some. I was also nervous about a lot of the food they eat, but my vet said most things in extreme moderation are fine. The amount of food/drink a cat can usually get to before you notice is tiny.

Yea, she (and the others) seem to think they can eat or drink whatever momma does.  I have to watch them sometimes.  But just a taste doesn't hurt them.  Mine love pizza and spaghetti too.  They like steak and chicken and dumplings!!  The others turn away like the coffee drinks stink to them... So it just really surprises me that Phoebe tried it is all!  She likes the smell of the caramel macchiato's too (the syrup is vanilla as well with caramel on top)  I think it might be the vanilla syrup that attracts her to it... So I will have to watch her from now on... If I hadn't stopped her, she probably would have drank a lot!!
