I'm trying to see if anyone has had any experience with this as I am completely lost. I have a litter of kittens that just turned 6 weeks on Sunday. They did have their own little area that I had for them in the living room until about 4 days ago when they learned that they can climb out of it and break out. So my new job has been to keep them in the living room. All has been well until I came home from work just an hour ago and one of the kittens "Mittens" my son had informed me was throwing up and drooling a lot.

I was only gone for 3 hours, and I have no idea what happened, as everyone else is perfectly healthy, so I'm guessing she got into something and ate something she wasn't supposed to? I have her isolated in a kennel now with some water, hoping that she can flush whatever is in her system out. She doesn't seem to be drinking though, just laying down. Has anyone ever had this happen to a kitten, and is there anything I can do? Antibiotics, fluids, anything? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Oh goodness, poor little thing... :( I would bring the baby to the vet ASAP, but if you're not able to, fluids are a must as the baby can get dehydrated very quickly. Their sugars can drop quickly as well, so try to syringe feed a bit of sugar water to help "perk" her up. It could really be anything at that age. Being a foster mom, I have seen so many seeming healthy kittens go downhill very quickly. Do you know the mom's background/health at all? Little immune systems are basically nonexistent at that age. Sending a tons of vibes hun.

I'll definitely try the sugar water. Mom is in good health, my only problem is she is an indoor/outdoor cat because I can't seem to get my family to not let her out. No problems with her though health wise. I'll just work on the hydration thing and see if that helps any. Thanks so much for your input. I appreciate it!
