My ex husband could only watch a movie once, he hated to watch repeats.

I on the other hand, can watch a good movie many many times.

How about you? Can you watch a movie more than once? Is there ever "too many times"? (I don't think I will ever get tired of The Green Mile)

and on the same note

What about books? Do you read a book once and it's done, or can you reread it?

I buy DVDs of my favorite movies.  So yep, I watch movies way more than once.  I can't even begin to think of how many times I've seen Hitchcock's "To Catch a Thief".  That is just one example.  Books are the same way.  If I read a book I like, I will hang onto it instead of donating it. Nothing like curling up on a winter night, fire in the fireplace, a warm blanket and covered with cats and dogs rereading one of my fave books.

I only read a book once and I have a hard time sitting through a movie the first time around, let alone multiple times hahaha.

I have watched The Lion King and Finding Nemo more than once though, LOL

I keep books I really love, thinking I'm going to re-read them, and never do.

But movies - my favorites I can watch over and over again. I swear, if one of my favorites shows up while I'm flipping channels, I'll stop and watch the whole thing. I do that with Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jurassic Park. (Notice a pattern here? Huuuuuuge Steven Spielberg fan!) But other favorites will get me to stop, as well - The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, Singin' in the Rain, It's A Wonderful Life, White Christmas.....can definitely watch these over and over - to the point of having them memorized. :D

I don't like most movies (esp newer ones!) but the ones I like I can watch to death!  I'm pretty sure I know White Christmas by heart!  Love that movie!!  I was totally born in the wrong era!

I can also re-read a book over and over if I like the story.  Its one of the reasons I hate getting rid of books.  I'll have a story I once read come to mind and then I want to read it again!  My foyer looks like a library. hehe

I love rewatching and rereading. As a kid, of course I could watch most things (the more inane the better) over and over. I remember in third grade I watched  Space Jam   every day for over a month when it came out on VHS. I can rewatch most movies, unless there is a big twist that ruins the build-up in future viewing like there is in  The Usual Suspects  . I like picking out new details I missed the first time, or simply enjoying a story that entertained me in the past.

As for reading, I make it a point to reread Voltaire's  Candide   every year. I have read the Lord of the Rings books a dozen times each since third grade, and I can pick up   most quality books and reread them. With books, I blame my high school AP english teachers. They were my favorite teachers and I got really into those classes, so I got used to reading books multiple times within a couple weeks.

I can watch movies more than once. Some movies I've seen a thousand times. It just depends on the movie. Books I can only read once.

I can only read a book/novel once. If I really loved a movie - I can easily see it multiple times. And then you see something you missed the first time too :D :clap:

If I like a book or movie, I will read or watch it time and time again. If I get engrossed in that world, it's worth revisiting. When I was in grade school/junior high, I used to read "Gone With the Wind" every summer. It was a tradition for me. I still have a hard time getting rid of books because if I haven't read them for a few years I may remember the general premise but not all the details so it's a new experience.

Same with movies. I have my core favorites that I used to watch over and over. Unfortunately, most of my favorites were VHS and the tapes are shot now, including the musicals that I grew up with. Disney movies are my favorites! But I can quote Princess Bride, Jurassic Park, Gone with the Wind (surprise), and It's A Wonderful Life word for word.....just to name a few.

I cannot tell you how many times I've read The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit....I know we're talking double digits. I've reread the Harry Potter books, too. I adore A Christmas Carol and read that every holiday season. I think every time Dirty Dancing appears in TV, I watch it....and I don't know why, but I do. I bought several tv series on DVDs (Supernatural, Vampire Diaries, and the first and only season of Moonlight); if there's nothing on tv I want to watch, I will often grab a season of a DVD and run a mini-marathon.

I only buy those books from favorite authors and have read and reread and reread many Stephen King books. Clive Cussler novels, too. Most of the time, I take books from the library, but even then, if it turns out that I've really fallen in love with a certain book from the library, I'll buy it anyway, just to reread it.

If I love the book then I will be able to read it over and over again. I can rewatch movies as well even though I tend to fall asleep during them if I am watching them at home.
