I work for a vet who recommends feeding soley dry food, stating canned food can adhere to the teeth increasing tarter etc. I've been doing research, and have been wondering about the recommendations of feeding more canned than dry. The reasons I've read being, in nature the diet consists of aprox 70% moisture, and wet food most closely resembles a more natural diet. Also, the wet food helps to dilute the urine, thus decreasing the chances of crystals forming.(especially beneficial to male cats who are more prone to urinary problems)
I'm interested in finding a well written article hopefully w/ reliable references to present to my boss for her opinion.
Anybody have any reading material for me?
