I work for a vet who recommends feeding soley dry food, stating canned food can adhere to the teeth increasing tarter etc. I've been doing research, and have been wondering about the recommendations of feeding more canned than dry. The reasons I've read being, in nature the diet consists of aprox 70% moisture, and wet food most closely resembles a more natural diet. Also, the wet food helps to dilute the urine, thus decreasing the chances of crystals forming.(especially beneficial to male cats who are more prone to urinary problems)

I'm interested in finding a well written article hopefully w/ reliable references to present to my boss for her opinion.

Anybody have any reading material for me?

Here is one more:
http://www.maxshouse.com/feline_nutrition.htm
There are references at the very bottom of the page...same with the other link I posted in my previous post.

You have to scroll down a bit to get to "Dry vs. canned: Which is better?" but the entire link is worth reading if you have the time.

I hear ya. I have six and can not afford to feed all of them only canned food. Currently they get canned and dry....they split one large can (12 - 14oz) daily and eat dry for the rest of their meal. It seems to be working well here.
