Hi guys,

My kitten had a bad URI when we first got him at a few weeks old. He is now about 8-9 months and has had one bad flare up that required antibiotics, but often gets quite sniffly/watery eyes and I feel bad for him.

We had him on l-lysine during the URI but now that he has had some flare ups i'm thinking of keeping him on it long term (hopefully to avoid antibiotics. i figure l-lysine is a lot more better long term than antibiotics).

I was just wondering how much he should be on? is there any amount that isn't safe?
we had him on 500mg a day when he was really bad - but keep in mind he is still only a kitten so I was wondering what maintenance dose would be safe for him.

Thanks a lot :)

thanks for your advice!
i live in Australia and it's really hard to find some really decent wet food. I currently have him on Holistic Select wet food, which by a lot of searching is the best I can find in this area. He does get dry food when we are away for a while in the day (because he is still a kitten i still free-feed him a lot of the time) and when he wakes up at 3am hungry :)
Hopefully it is good enough :)
