So my 5 year old cat Laylah is fat. Probably a common problem for many indoor cats. She is otherwise healthy, neutured and microchipped. We have consulted our vet and have come up with a plan of 30 mins play time a day and reducing her food consumption. We begun this journey of weight loss today, and so far so good. Any one got any additional suggestions on how to keep her moving during play time?

Equally or even more important than increasing her exercise is evaluating the TYPE of food Laylah is eating. Low-carb wet food would be a much healthier choice for her than any kibble, so if she's still on dry food you might want to consider switching. Many cats simply lose the weight with just a diet change. http://www.catinfo.org/?link=felineobesity

Thankyou so much for sending through that link. It has forced me to rethink what I am feeding her and will now consider a different approach.
