G'day:

How much exercise do you get per day or week?

Do you have specific goals that you meet weekly?

Or maybe you don't have an active exercise regiment, but just a physically demanding job that exercises you ;)

I bought an exercise bike and was doing 10 miles a day then I got just got a dog and starting her slow at 1 mile a day but would like to work up to 5 a day(shes fit but can easily handle it)  I want to be able to go on trails with her where I know a place very few people walk to cause its far in in a park that would be great for her to swim-very clean and could go on a check cord.

I have a 2 year old.  Does that count?

Ok so it's not quite the same thing.  But once the new baby is here I would like to do something mild for myself several days a week.  I got an exercise bike shortly after I found out about this pregnancy.  So that will probably be where I start.

Exercise daily . I don't particularly love it, but want to try to stay in shape. DVD workouts, elliptical or treadmill. I love bike riding when weather permits :D

I looked in the humane society for a walking companion. Found a dog I liked. Dead of winter then, but I walked twenty minutes a day on a bike path.

Since then, I lost some poundage, the dog gained it. We walk when the weather is fair and there isn't anything else pressing us to take care of that instead.

Sunday for sure we go.

I walk every day of my life; it is truly rare for me to take a day off of my walking. I'm up to 6.5 miles a day and am pushing for those 7 miles again. Three miles over my lunch break and another 3.5 miles when I get home from work. I love my walks. I change into my walking clothes, grab my iPod and off I go. (I've walked for years. Had to stop when I had knee surgery and it took about 18 months to get back on track again. I was walking 7 miles a day before the surgery and on weekends, I could easily walk ten miles. Rick and I walked all over the countryside around our house. We'd get up on a summer weekend morning and take off. It's taking me awhile to get built back up to where I was before, but I'm trying.)

In addition to my walking, I exercise at least times a week with dumbbells. There's a series of exercises that I do and then I finish by plopping down on my exercise mat and doing a bunch of different crunches.

We have a Bowflex in the basement (the treadmill is down there, too) and once the weather stays warm, I'll be switching my dumbbell program back to the Bowflex for the summer months. Rick walks, too, but not as much distance. He uses the elliptical in the bedroom on days that he doesn't walk.

Oh man there aren't many things I actually hate, but "organized exercise" is one of them. I have to force myself to do core exercises and stretches and that feels good and keeps a lot of pain at bay, but I still don't like doing them, have to really psych myself up to get started every single time. I'm a pretty hyper person anyway, and have a tough time making myself rest and sit down, so I'm usually buzzing around, cleaning, cooking, washing, organizing, working on various projects. I live in a neighborhood where you can walk to most everything, and I love that and it's really good for me.

My husband, on the other hand, swims 2km or more 3 times a week, and lifts weights the other 3 days... awesome in every way.

I have just quit smoking to go with my new exercise regime, I have just taken up boxing once a week on a friday night, my kids started and there was another lady who goes and so I decided to join, I'm finding it tough to start but its brilliant and there is so much more to just punching. I have also started going swimming on a tuesday night, they have a ladies session.x

I've been doing INSANITY for the past month, so it's quite a bit of exercise; I work out 6/7 days a week with that. I also run a bit during agility training with my dogs and take them for daily walks.
