I forgot to mention that the vet today also said that Mosley must have been pregnant when she was spayed since the incision is so large. Can they do that without telling me? Shouldn't I have had to option to keep the kittens if this was what happened? I'm very upset with the humane society after the vet visit this morning needless to say. Has anyone else had these problems/concerns with the humane society?

It's ALWAYS possible that she could have been pregnant. However, some vets are a little less concerned about the size of the incision. I have seen them as tiny as a dime, and others almost the lenght of the cat.
If they did spay her while pregnant, it would really be up to them since it was adopted through them to begin with. It's fairly common practice for shelters, rescues, and humane societys to spay a pregnant cat. It's thier way of reducing the overpopulation problem
