Hello,

somehow I've lost it!

Anyhow I managed to get the last 2 years records from the vet clinic.

Can someone help me on what I need to do next and tell me if some of the information are wrong:

***Born August 2008***

2008 - lost record

--------------------------------

2009 - lost record

--------------------------------

Clinic record:

2010March   rabies and FVRCP

2010 June had rabies (don't know why but we were traveling and they gave him a shot)

and a microchip

--------------------------------

No clinic record but I did take my cat twice to the vet clinic first time in March and second was in June

2011 march :

Ok let me explain:

I took him in March because we were traveling and the country required the following shots:

*Rabies

*Feline Pan Leukcopenia (FPV)

*Feline Rhinotrachitics (FHV-1)

*Feline Calicivirus

We didn't give him Rabies because his shot back in June 2010 was still valid.

The vet gave him 2 shots I think one was labelled Feline leukemia (I remember it in the vac book)

the other shot I don't know I think it was a worm shot the name was something like that ivemmctin.

And the above shots written in Blue were not given because we didn't need it, I don't know if my cat have had them before and they were still valid by the time, or not?

2011 June Rabies

--------------------------------

2012 - no vaccinations but I have a reminder stating 3 visits to the clinic: Feb/March/June

Feb for Rabies

March for Leukemia

June I don't know it was left empty.

Can some one please help me specially with the validation of the shots

I'm sorry, not quite sure what you are asking.  It appears you rec'd this information from your Vet, so what is it you are needing?  BTW, what country do you live in, and do they require vaccinations?

I'm confused by what you need? How can we help?

I have no way of knowing if those records are accurate or if something is missing.

Is there some legally required book you lost? From what I can tell, a vaccination book is simply a record - an official record from the vet of vaccinations. If so, can you  not just get another from the vet?

Maybe if you were more specific on what you're asking, someone could chime in and help.

I'm not sure what you need, either.

BUT, if you're trying to obtain a more complete record of what vaccinations were given:  check with the agency that requires these vaccinations.  The vet is probably required to provide that information to that agency.

If on the other hand you're asking our opinion as to whether these shots are necessary, appropriate:  well, if required by the country your're going to, um, yeah.  FVRCP is sometimes required by insurance company if you have pet insurance.

I interact with a lot of cats, feral, stray, rescue, so I do have Ritz vaccinated against FCRCPAlso, the insurance carrier requires Ritz be vaccinated for FVRCP and the county/state requires yearly rabies shots.

In so far as how long these vaccinations last:  partly depends on the exact type of vaccinations.  Some rabies shots last one year, some three years.

The others are usually one year only.

I do know that vaccinations for FIV/FELK usually are not recommended for indoor cats because of side effects and questions of efficacy.

Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone.

Yes I lost the vaccination book, and we have moved. So I have contacted all the vet clinic we went to and collected all the information.

I will see my currant vet and prepare everything.

Thanks for your help.

My cat plays outside sometimes and get in contact with stray cats.
