I am curious.. on a healthy weight cat, is it normal to feel it's spine?

I can just feel their ribs. not a lot, but I believe my cats are a good weight, but I can feel Cassie's spine more than Monet's, I can feel it just under the skin.

is it normal?

Just like in people, cats vary in what is "normal" for them.  If Punkin ever got to be like Flambe, I would be sure he was dying.  But Flambe is very high activity, and only a couple of years old.  He's built like I was in my teens!

I think it's pretty normal.  My kitty is a chunky girl and I can feel her spine a little.  Her ribs, not so much.  But ME...well I have a big ol' spine!  Bigger than most people's I think.
