FVRCP means Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia. It's the usual combo vaccine given to cats. There may be another C in there, that would stand for Chlamydophila. I don't know what an extra P would stand for.

Rabies, of course, is self-explanatory. "Defensor Pfizer" is the brand of rabies vaccine used.

The next bit means that if you let your cat's rabies certificate expire (by not getting another rabies vaccine before the expiration date), it's not their problem. Standard legalese.

Most people are familiar with the abbreviation 'FVRCP' which stands for Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis (herpes), Calici, Panleukopenia.  FVRCP is a combination vaccine that includes 3 out of the 5 vaccines that will be discussed on this webpage.

This vaccine can either be modified live (NON-adjuvanted) or killed (adjuvanted).

Only use a modified live (NON-adjuvanted) - never a killed (adjuvanted) - FVRCP vaccine

...

adjuvants contained in killed vaccines put cats at risk for fatal tumors (sarcomas)

Adjuvants are substances that are added to vaccines to purposely cause inflammation at the vaccine site in order to alert the immune system to its presence.  They are used with killed vaccines to stimulate a more robust immune response but can also cause fatal, aggressive tumors at the site of vaccine injection.

There is no good reason for any veterinarian to inject an adjuvanted vaccine into any feline patient.

DO NOT assume that your vet is using the safer, non-adjuvanted vaccines.  ASK before allowing any vaccine to be administered to your cat.

Mum of two, I've given you the link to the article (written by a well known Veterinarian) from which I've pulled those quotations.

There's much more food for thought in there as well, including information on the well-established (and unfortunate) indiscriminate practice of "regular vaccinations" for all cats.

Hopefully you'll be able to have a read...

Oh, ok. Very clear.  Thank you.
