Hello everyone!
My name is Mindy. My boyfriend and I have 3 cats..Max (9), Gus (almost 8) and Lexi (about a year)...as well as 2 dogs. Eddie is a black Lab and Uallis (pronounced Wallace) is a Mastiff (both dogs are 5 years old).
One of the reasons I joined this forum is because Max, who just turned 9 years old, was diagnosed 2 years ago with an auto-immune disease. He went into remission for awhile and just recently (in November) became ill again. He, again, seems to be in remission now but I'd love to hear from other members who have had cats with an auto-immune disease.
Another reason of why I joined this forum is that I just flat out love cats. I'm a member of several dog forums and have made great friends but sometimes I'd just like to be able to "talk cat".
I'd like to say as a disclaimer: I'm not here to get medical advice per say. My cat is being treated for his illness by our vet. I just want to talk about my cats and other cats. If someone has experience with auto-immune diseases...that's great! I'd love to hear about it and any ideas...but my cat IS being treated...any possible treatment would be run by our vet first.
Anyway, its great to be here and I can't wait to "meet" you all!
