Tonight I came home and went right into the bathroom because nature was urgently calling.

As I was sitting there, Katie came into and was rubbing against my leg wanting some pets.  When Katie left, Abby came in and she sat in front of me and let me scratch the top of her head. Then she went around to my right side and the next thing I know I feel paws on my thigh. I looked down and Abby had her 2 front paws on my thigh looking adoringly at me with squinted eyes. So I started to scratch the top of her head again.

Suddenly I smelled POOOO!  Then I realized what was going on!
The litter box is right next to the toilet on the right side.  Abby doesn't like to get her paws dirty. When she was a kitten she tried so hard to balance herself on the edge of the box with all 4 paws but couldn't. So she resigned herself to having to have 1 paw in the box with 3 on the sides by the corner of the box.  Today she had 1 hind leg in the box, 1 hind leg on the edge of the box and 2 front legs on my thigh proping herself up so she could poooo!!!!!!!
The adoring squinted eyes? Her look of concentration!!!

Ha..ha... that's either cute or disgusting depending on your point of view.

Anyways. when Aya was a wee kitten I had her in a tiny Okinawan apartment and one of the only places for a box was behind the toilet. I had a neat little traingle box that would just fit when I took the rim off. She was very keen on let us say "joint potty-ing". she didn't like to be left alone and as I lived alone I left the door open and she would toddle in walk around the toilet and get inspired. Fortunately she usually did #1. she would also jump in my lap to get to the tiny corner sink and I'd have to turn on the tap to let her drink.

I now live with my family and the boxes are elsewhere in the house but she still gets worried if I diappear into the B-room w/out her and meows at the door to be let in.
