I read in health article somewhere a while ago that for humans the healthiest way of eating is something very different from how most of us eat.

They say you should eat one item at a time with intervals (even different brands of meat or vegetables/pasta, etc.)

Like if you eat meat - don't eat vegetables at the same time, but give your stomach digest one type of food, and then you can eat another.

It sounded a bit strange that if I eat apple - I can't eat banana at the same time (what about fruit or vegetable salads?)

But, how about cats?

From the beginning I never mixed their foods together, but served them on different plates, so they choose what they want most, but some would eat from couple of plates, e.g.: mince meat of beef, cut-up chicken, and then some organs, and even some commercial during one meal.   Whilst others developed the liking to one only type of food.  Mainly they eat raw, but sometimes commercial wet as well.  Very seldom they eat dry (more like a treat).

Does anyone know if mixing foods on one plate is good, or is it not healthy?

There's no place like home
That's an interesting question and honestly, not knowing the science behind the suggestion for humans eating different foods at different times, then I couldn't begin to guess on doing so for cats.

If you think about how cats eat in the wild, they kill and eat their prey. One type of animal, all meat/organs/bones from that animal at one sitting. If you look at the ingredients in commercial cat foods, they have nothing remotely close to how cats eat in the wild. Do commercial foods harm cats? Perhaps to some extent. But do they extend the lives of house cats over those in the wild? Yes.

Knowing about the limited research done for pet nutrition, I doubt you'll find a good answer for this.

Not sure about this statement Amy.... Not sure when you take away the predators, the diseases, the fights, add regular vet care, the safety of a home, vaccines, regular food and water.... if it is the commercial food itself that is making a difference - I have serious doubts.

Moisture and kibbles do not go along well due to bacterial growth - so stay away from that - don't mix kibbles and raw on the same plate, or kibbles and wet.... (or kibbles and water, for that matter....)
Here I don't mix.... During introduction kibbles andraw go on the same plate, but it is a little raw only, and it is served within 20 minutes - then the plate is pulled.

Well, thanks.

I thought someone would have an experience in that.
