I did a few searches and haven't found any discussions of this food for a very long time.

I did some online research and from what I can see, it is no longer canned by Evangers.

It moved to Menu, and now is made by Simmons in Canada.

It appears to have pretty good, basic ingredients these days...

(Turkey and Turkey Liver) Ingredients:

Turkey, Turkey Broth, Turkey Liver, Guar Gum, Cassia Gum, Carrageenan, Minerals (Iron Amino Acid Chelate, Zinc Amino Acid Chelate, Cobalt Amino Acid Chelate, Copper Amino Acid Chelate, Manganese Amino Acid Chelate, Sodium Selenite, Potassium Iodide), Inulin, Vitamins (Vitamin E, A, D3, B12 Supplements, Thiamine Mononitrate, Niacin, d-Calcium Pantothenate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Riboflavin Supplement, Folic Acid, Biotin), Choline Chloride, Flaxseed Oil, Salt, Taurine.

They have many great reviews on PFD.

And, it is priced very reasonably for a Grain Free canned food...

$8.92 per case of 12 x 6.5 oz cans at PFD on AutoShip.

Any thoughts?

I have (as yet) not concerned myself with Carrageenan... should I?

It seems to be very common in both Pet and Human foods.

I'm glad you asked this - I found a good price for a case of this and would definitely be interested.  The ingredients look really good - the first 3 or 4 are all animal protein-based.  It is cheaper than Wellness or comparable brands, though, which is weird, huh?  Looking forward to other replies!

Hi, I used to get By Nature for Angel @ Pet Smart. They stopped carrying it, so switched to Natural Balance (what I bought in dry anyway).  I haven't seen it anywhere else here. I usually don't buy on line because usually can't afford to get enough for free shipping, or the cost was the same in the pet stores.  Is By Nature still called that, or is it under a new name now?  I would love that case price! Right now, I am paying $ 1.49-1.59  for one 6.5 oz. can. of the Natural Balance @ Petco, or Pet Supermarket. (only buy grain free).

I found it online - a case for $23.99.  Here's the link to Petsmart.  I think it's regular-sized cans, not 3 oz cans.  It doesn't say... but down at the bottom of the product description it says 6.5 oz... so I was a little confused.  But if it's regular-sized cans, that's a buck a can!  Which is way better than 1.49-1.79 per can for the good stuff at Petsmart!

Oh - they ARE 6.5oz cans - here's the link to chicken & chicken liver case - still for $23.99.  Click on the second picture.

But wait - in the picture of the case, that looks like only 12 cans.  Which would make this NOT a great deal at all, at $2 per can.  Why doesn't it say how many in a case?  Grrr!

ETA: I emailed Petsmart to ask and hope to hear back sooner rather than later.  I will update at that point!  If it's 24 cans I think I will definitely buy.  The ingredients look good and a buck a can can't be beat.

Want a better price?

A case of 12 (6.5 oz) cans is only $10.49 at PetFoodDirect. (About 88 cents per can.)

If you select "AutoShip" (which is not an actual commitment, and can be changed or deleted at any time)

it becomes $8.92 per case.

Of course, once you add the shipping back in, you are close to $10.49 again, depending on how many you order.

Still, much less expensive than any Pet Store that I am aware of.

Well, it was a GREAT evening at the SevenWonders house last night...

at least according to The Kitties!

I received three cases of By Nature 95% (Turkey, Chicken and the Seafood one.)

They absolutely LOVED the Turkey & Turkey Liver formula - even Jerry, who is very picky!

We haven't tried the others yet - didn't go overboard.

No ill effects so far. Their stool volume has decreased dramatically since going to Grain Free a couple of weeks ago though.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to hearing from you other Parents who are planning to feed or have already fed the By Nature 95% varieties!

I place a large order at PFD yesterday (thanks to this thread), but didn't end up ordering this brand, simply because my cats don't like pate, and all the By Nature 95% seemed to be just that.  So I got some other grain free canned goods.

Glad your babies are liking it so far.

Some more feedback from The SevenWonders House of Kitties...

They have finally tried the other two flavors of the By Nature 95% (Chicken & Chicken Liver, and Salmon, Mackerel & Sardine.)

The Fish Variety got 10 Paws Up from the 5 indoor Kitties, while the Chicken came in with 9 of 10.

(Jerry ate most of it, but he strongly prefers the Turkey & Turkey Liver over the Chicken.)

Anyone else tried them yet?

That's great, glad your kitties are liking it.  Angel seems to only like pate, so that's also why i bought it. (I think because two yrs ago he had to have two bottom teeth, one on ea. side removed. ) I wish all cans would tell you what form it's in. It would make it easier when trying something new.

I did check out the site. Unfortunately, once you add shipping, it's still just as expensive, so until I can order enough for free shipping, I will have to wait on that one. At least I know where to find it again though!

I discovered ByNature at PetSmart when they marked it down to discontinue it.  Then I started ordering it from Petfooddirect.  My 3 cats loved the chicken and turkey flavors.  They weren't crazy about the beef (that is true for wellness beef/chicken too.)  I thought it was a great food for the price.  We are taking a break from ordering it because their enthusiasm has cooled for some reason.  Maybe we will try it again someday.

I bought a few cans of the 95% Chicken and Liver and noticed there was no AAFCO stamp of approval on the can.....does this concern anyone else?? Seems to be great food, similar to the Evo 95%

Glad I was able to help

I prefer "much, MUCH better" prices whenever possible!

Usually, I can find the best price at PFD, except for Blue Buffalo Wilderness Dry bags...

they are usually less at my local PetSmart for whatever reason.

Doing a quick search for "By Nature 95% meat cat food AAFCO" I find many sites listed,

usually retailers who all seem to state that By Nature 95% Cat Foods do meet AAFCO guidelines.

I'm at work now, so I can't look at the can, but I'll try to remember to take a look later at home.

UPDATE...

Looking at the top left corner of the "Information" section of the label, they all state:

"By Nature 95% (flavor) cat food is formulated to meet the nutritional levels

established by the AAFCO cat food nutrient profiles for growth & maintenance."

Thanks for clarifying, I had bought 2 cans that were devoured quickly. I totally missed that on the label.
