Good morning folks.

Todays question:

What is/was the most expensive thing that you have had damaged/wrecked by a pet?

Something priceless, unfortunately. My boyfriend's dad moved back to Mexico when he was 3, and one of the few things he owns of his are these woven baskets he made himself. Bowser chewed one up right after I moved in with him (after like 7 months of dating). THAT was not good.

Midnight is the only one out of three cats that's destructive. Luckily he hasn't broken anything super expensive. Still a little mad that he broke my strobe light.

Lynxx
knocked things over but never broke anything, Luna has knocked things over but hasn't broken anything yet

I would say my leather couches that they shredded the corners of...but I got them for free from a friend :lol3: I guess if I had to have bought it myself though, it'd be those.

Over the river and through the woods...
Probably the numerous couches we had to get rid of in the last 7 years. Two had to be tossed when we moved because they became the scratching post of choice (yes, they had a cat tree), plus they were puked on so many times that we gave up cleaning them. But we bought them second hand for $200 so it wasn't that bad. We recently tossed the couch we got out of storage because Monster had so many seizures on it during her last few months that we couldn't get the urine smell out. But, it was over 20 years old and inherited from my parents' house so we weren't out anything.

The most heart breaking was my mom's Christmas cactus. She had this plant for over 15 years and started with just a cutting. It was in a hanging basket outside during the summer and inside during the winter. It was doing ok, but it never bloomed. After my mom was diagnosed with cancer and was stuck in a hospital bed in the dining room I kind of forgot about it and by the end of the summer it shriveled away to nothing. When I brought it in I watered it good by sitting it in a sink full of water for a few days and it came back. I moved it to the dinning room buffet where she could see it. Would you believe that plant not only survived but THRIVED after that, and actually bloomed over Mom's last Christmas! So many blooms that I was cussing the plant because I had to pick up dead flowers every day and more kept coming.

I had that cactus for 3 years after that and it was doing great and blooming every year. The first year in our new house we didn't have a place to hang it so I set it on the railing of the porch. Well, one of the dogs got it and used it as a chew toy. It was a massacre. I tried to start a new one with some of the bits and pieces I found around the yard but none of them took. I was just heart broken and cried my eyes out.

The carpet in my bedroom.  But that was from one of my RB girls when I still lived at home.  So I suppose it was my Mom and Step-dad who had something wrecked.

Tiger would scratch at the carpet to let me know she wanted out of my room during the night.  Sometimes she would paw the door; but I think if that didn't work she'd go to scratching.  She pawed more to be let back in.  (This happened multiple times every night!)  She tore it right down to the nails and all that!!  I used to keep a piece of plastic floor mat there to help.  I miss that cat!!

My couch is shredded.  But it's no big deal since I never sit on it.  Someday I will get a new one.

I'd say the couch and chair that Tabby pretty much shredded at this point. They're pretty old, so I guess it's OK. But I can't see the use in buying new furniture at this point. It seems futile.
