Hello all, just posting a quick introduction. Some of you may have seen my post on Cat Health regarding Gracie's kidneys and potential autoimmune disease.

I adopted Gracie and Griffin as kittens (not littermates) 2 years ago from a local shelter. Griffin is a male gray tiger cat; Gracie is female dilute calico. They are such good cats that they even have my self professed cat hating boyfriend wrapped around their paws haha. I'm very proud to call them mine.

I hope some of you here have some experience with kidney problems and/or autoimmune disease in cats. I'm looking for any tips and tricks to help Gracie through this. And yes she is seeing a vet regularly to try and get both problems diagnosed and treated.

Thanks!

Good Morning and welcome to TCS!

I am sure there are people here who have experience with the issues you stated.  Pretty much everything concerning kitties can be found here.  We would love to see some pics of your Griffin and Gracie.

I think you will really like it here!

Gracie is my avatar. Is avatar the right word? I've attached a photo of Griffin here and another of Gracie. Griffin tends to be a ham for the camera, as you can see. His eyes are as big as saucers!

Welcome to TCS!  Your babies are gorgeous!!  They both look like hams!  If I try to get a picture of my 2 looking at me like that the flash makes the squint and they look grumpy.  One of my 2 often is...but still!

I hope you are able to get some good help with Gracie's kidney problems.  I had a kitty years ago who had kidney failure toward the end of her life; but I don't remember a ton about it.  She also was having problems with her thyroid and stomach.  She was on several meds and sub-q fluids.  She was an older cat when all that happened though.  And had had dental problems for years before that I believe contributed.

I'm sure if someone here has experienced it; they'll be able to give more advice and encouragement where you've already posted n the Cat Health forum.
