Good morning

I know that many of us post on other sites as well as TCS.  So I'm wondering...

Does the nature of a site determine how you post?  Or are you always the same person everywhere?

On TCS, I'm really easy-going and laid back.  I take everything in stride.  But I discovered on some other forums, I can be a bit terse and very direct.  The rules are more or less the same as TCS, but I'm a completely different person on some other sites.

One of the sites I post on is a news/political forum. I find that I pull no punches there whatsoever. I'm a die-hard liberal Democrat and I post as such.

Is it a forum where people are of all political persuations? That must be interesting!  I can't imagine Liberal supporters (the equivalent of Republicans) chatting merrily with Labor (Democrats) people over here, or vice versa.

I don't do any other forums either, so I don't know, although I think I'm pretty much myself here...

I post on a couple of e-cigarette forums, and my posting style is definitely different because I 1) post in German, 2) usually only participate in threads discussing technical stuff, and 3) am not a mod there.

I post on car sites, and am probably a different poster on there just because of the atmosphere, as well as knowing many people off of one in person as well.

The only other one I go on is for babies/parenting things.  I'm pretty much the same; but more reserved.  People can be very rude on there.  Get a bunch of hormonal pregnant women or new moms together and I guess that's what you get.  I actually love that what goes on on that site wouldn't fly here for a minute.  I stay there because it has been very helpful to me; and over time the rudest of the people do seem to drop off...or chill out.

I keep myself PG rated on this site, on FB or the other forum I post on though I am my normal, foul mouthed self :)

Keeping myself in check here is the only thing I do differently.

I post on several forums and there are different factors for each site. Each site has it's different FAQ and ways of moderation.  As a rule, if possible, I like to post as myself.
