Trashy Kitten!

My boy just can't keep his paws off my trash can. It's plastic, about 3' tall, with one of those swivel lids. About every other day I come home and he has knocked it over. How do I get him to drop his interest with the trash?!!

You could:

A) Get a heavier, stainless steel can with the foot pedal to open it.
B) Wedge your can in between two spaces that he can't knock it over from.
C) Put the garbage can in a pantry, or closet. Or even get a garbage can that goes under the cupboard.

Or if none of those work for you, you could invest in the Ssscat. Its a can with a sensor on top that sprays air when motion is detected near it. You could place it near your garbage can.
Although, you could just get a sturdier garbage can for the same price.

Put a brick or something else heavy in the bottom of the garbage can. You'll get less space in the bag, but once he learns he can't knock it over, he'll stop trying and you can remove the object.

Great idea! Thank you! it drives me insane, as we are both coffee drinkers, so there are always grounds in my garbage!! Such a mess! I will try the brick, as my kitchen doesn't have anyway for me to like, stuff it between somewhere. I'll be sure to let you know how it works!

I hope it works well. What kind of kitten do you have?
