I'm watching the weather and there are still tornadoes moving through several states as well as several that hit today and over the last few days. We have numerous members in the states involved (Missouri, Kansas, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, and maybe more).

I hope all of our members are safe. Please check in when you can and let us know! Very scary situation still going on. Sending vibes to all.

Yes please check in everyone!  I know where a few members are located that are under severe weather alerts; but not everyone.  Sometimes I think I need to keep a list!  Including what county people live in.  Sometimes it's hard to figure out exactly where things mentioned in articles online are.

We are in western New York state.  I am up now, because the winds began howling an hour ago.  No tornadic conditions expected, but strong winds as high as 70mph.  I live with huge pine trees, so needless to say, I am doing lots of praying.

I worry about the barn kitties, the old barn is rickety at best.  But there is a smaller, sturdy barn, or potting shed they can go in.  I slept on the couch with my clothes on, just in case something happens.  DH is upstairs in bed...brave guy.  I may get him up soon.  I brought Barney, his shop cat, in for the night.  He is in a dog crate in the kitchen.  We pulled the power for the garage and shop.  This is supposed to continue all day into the evening.

I pray everyone stays safe.  Spring is so volatile.  I hope we hear from others in the areas you mentioned and they are ok.

It hit here between noon and 2pm Friday. Fortunately, the tornadoes went to the north and south of me.

We just had a lot of snow in Wisconsin on Wednesday in northern Wisconsin (up to 21 inches) and yesterday afternoon through last night  we got some in eastern and southern Wisconsin.  It was slow driving home but the front will be moving out (to Michigan) later this morning.

Storms can be very scary. I have lost count the number of times (living in Tornado alley in texas) I have slept in my shelter place.

Which brings me to another question.....

Those of us who do live in Tornado prone and bad storm areas, what is your plan for you and the babies?

Right now- Our  bedroom closet is it- 100% central and the safest. We have drills every month.

During a thunderstorm watch or warming we "prepare" the closet. This means removing the shoe holder (shoes are heavy), removing the clothes, and placing several layers of blankets on the floor. We have 2 smallish chairs - one will fit on each side of the closet- We also keep a flashlight in there with extra batteries.

We each sit in a chair, and the cats go in the middle of us - between the 2 chairs- it's a tight fit, but in a tornado - I would love to be there!!

Several nights we have slept in there, or rather "slept" as in- not much sleeping going on but hoping and praying and hanging on, making sure the babies are OK.

I hope everyone is well! And please develop a plan :)

Some areas, mostly rural or small towns,  to the east, west and south of Cincinnati were hit very hard and sustained major damage, but we were fortunate and just had very strong storms pass through. My thoughts and prayers are with all affected by the recent severe weather.

East TN here, North Knoxville didnt get anything too bad. Just lots of rain. Thank goodness! We were in SC but luckily had someone staying at our house. When the storms came through there it was just wind and rain so it wasnt as bad!

However there were some towns near by that got it very bad. One of the worst I believe was Ootlewah near Chattanooga. We will be driving through there this Friday and I hope to snap some pictures.

I hope everyone from here is safe!
