Because the cats start running and jumping around like spring lambs!

I opened up the conservatory yesterday and you would have thought Sophie was on something the way she kept running in and out.

Rosie and Jack's on bird watch already as well in there so their all happy cats right now

Awww!  We might need pics or even a little video clip of that!
We get huge flocks of Starlings here that the cats go nuts over!  I've seen them in fields here where there had to be thousands of them!  DH and I were amazed!  We will get a good bunch of them in the backyard and both cats will be in a window all worked up.  hehe

We also get big flocks of geese in the area and of course the Robins.  I've been seeing them for over a month!!  I love welcoming them back!

Their going to love the birds this year because i've got Pheasants coming for the bird seed now.

A cat across the road was in my garden a couple of weeks ago when the Pheasant was pecking around. I held my breath expecting it to jump on it, but the bird starting squawking which was probably to warn the cat off, but the cat just looked at it and walked straight passed!!. Whether the size of it put it off?.

I don't know about anyone else but I just feel different, feel a bit more lively and look forward to getting up and opening the curtains, its nice to hang out washing and the kitties like it when I'm out in the garden as they come with me. I can't wait until it gets warmer so I can sit outside in the evenings. x

I feel the same.

My friends been worried over her Mum because she hasn't been herself, so she took her to the Doctors thinking it was the onset of dementia because of a few things that was happening. The Doctor didn't seem overly concerned, and the last 2 weeks weve had sunshine and milder weather and she said she seems back to her normal self?, so l said it's not dementia she's got, it's the dark and gloomy weather that's got her feeling low!. She thinks i'm right because she said it happened the same time last year as well

Well we have had our fair share of dull and gloomy weather too. I wonder if she has got that seasonal affective disorder? Its very common.x

I know the spring is here when I can put away my winter coat and mittens ... which since I live in Eastern Canada I need to keep because it's not uncommon to have a spring time snow storm lol

I know spring is here when I'm sneezing, throat closes up and itches, I want to scratch my eyes clear out of my head and I notice the constant presence of tissue for my runny nose. Oh, and Fred the cat looks just as miserable as me....poor fella.

Damn tulip trees!

It's another sunny day here again, and i've now had to switch the timer off on my heating because it was like a sauna when l woke up

I think i'll blitz the conservatory after my housework this afternoon and the kids can spend more time in there

I just love the sunny bright days and the warmth that spring promises! Heavenly!

On Tuesday, our day was absolutely gorgeous. Sunny, blue skies with nary a cloud in sight. Warm, warm, warm....I walked in my sweatshirt (although really our winter has been so warm that it's been rare that I've had to wear my winter coat to walk). We had snow, sleet, and freezing rain yesterday morning before it switched over to all rain. It was still nice and I was able to get my walk in during my lunch break. It was still raining, so I just used my big golf umbrella and life was good.

Our daffodils are poking up through the ground by about 3 inches! Our crocuses are bursting to bloom! I can't wait for the weather to warm up enough that we can open windows throughout the house....the cats love being in all the windows and watching the birds and the bugs. And chirping at all the bunnies that will come to visit.

And don't forget, Daylight Savings Time starts next weekend on March 11!! Longer days mean more time to spend outside!

My friend said because you can have the windows open more than 10 minutes without shivering
I noticed today thought that you have windows open when its sunny and feels warm and as soon as the nightfall drops it suddenly goes freezing.Roll on summer, plenty of bbq's and sitting outside till very late and I cannot wait to get our pool out.x

Pam, our spring flowers are blooming here!  My neighbors have a ton of daffodils up and blooming!  My Mom said her crocus' started blooming a few weeks ago too!  It's headed your way!

Yes!  Especially before all the bugs really come out in full force!  I've been enjoying taking my DD to the park!

Over the river and through the woods...
Our weeds are growing
! Well, not a lot be some of the weedy ground cover stuff (hows that for a "scientific name") are green and starting to spread. And we've had robins around the last few weeks! Our daffodils usually don't start poking out until mid to late march so nothing there yet. But I'm not convinced winter is over yet. We've been lucky this year compared to a few years ago but it is not unheard of for us to have a major blizzard over St. Patrick's Day or even Easter. So I'm reserved in my celebration right now.

In our area, it's when the scissortail flycatchers arrive.  Definitely warm-weather birds!  And gorgeous, to boot!

Well with several inches of snow last night i cannot share my spring observations but usually when the redwing blackbirds come back is an indicator spring is near.
