After being a bit wobbly, He is full of energy and its only 3.5 hours after release time. Meowing quite a lot- Norwegian Forest don't tend to meow without reason. Do we need to follow vet's advice to not play a lot and feed little?

Poor baby.  Males tend to bouce back quickly after neutering.  Yes, follow the vets advice.  Sometimes the drugs used to sedate them cause vomiting.  So, just do what the vet says and keep in touch with him.

We would love to see some pics!

My cats have always ignored the vets advice about everything.

'spaying her will stop her feeding the kittens'.  No, she carried on until her favourite went to his new home.

'keep her quiet and warm'.  No, bounced out of the carrier and did the wall of death before sticking her head in the food bowl.

Follow the vets advice as far as your cat will let you.

My vet told me not to play with him a lot, but within 4 hours he was running around everywhere jumping on everything. I didn't instigate it by brining the toys around, and he was fine. As with the food, the vet told me to only give him about 1/2 the amount, but then if he acted hungry later on, it was fine to give him more food. She said it was more because some cats will get nauseous so to start with a small amount. Again, I did the small amount but then before we went to bed he was pretty cranky and hungry so I gave more for him and it was fine. I'm glad your boy is bouncing back fine!!

I meant to give a timeline.

Off to vet at 10 am

Surgery at 12-1?

Pickup 6:30pm same day

He's better than ever today. He doesn't even have stitches to lick, does anyone have details of how they do it without stitches?

Presurgery Fluffy. He is not 4.45kg.

I think its surgical glue or something.  Males heal quickly.  I had mine in the bathroom for 48 hours to discourage jumping and stuff.  I also kept him indoors for 14 days.

Actually, some vets don't use anything to close the incision on male cats. It's so small that nothing is needed. Some use surgical glue which works very well.

I think you'd be safe to feed him now. If he had surgery around noon he should be okay to eat after 8pm. Just start small in case he vomits. Give a small meal and wait some 15-20 minutes. If he keeps it down you can feed him. I wouldn't worry too much about playing with him as long as he's recovered from the anesthesia (is walking straight, etc.). Some TNR organizations will release male cats the same day as the surgery once the anesthesia has worn off. I've never not let my cats play after a spay or neuter. I just let them do whatever the feel up to. With males having such a small incision there is no risk for damaging the incision or anything so I see no reason why a male cat would not be okay to play as long he's steady on his feet.
