Now I know for sure that what was causing Lucas to scratch and pull out his hair so much was his stress.   We are moving to a new house and since the house we are still living in is almost empty he is worse, he keeps licking his belly and back and the has no hair in those areas,he pulls it out.  He looks really bad.  We will be out of this house on Tuesday, finally, and I know Lucas will not do well at first, but I'm hoping and praying that he adjusts quicky.

I feel like theres nothing I can do to help him right now.  All the furniture is gone but the beds and the table and chairs, they feel lost.  I won't be able to be online  after Tuesday.   I know this week will be hard, I just hate moving so much and I also hate the fact that my kitties will  suffer, specially Lucas.

Would it be possible to medicate Lucas for a while during this stressful period? He seems to have a pretty extreme reaction and maybe he'd feel better having some Xanax or Valium on board. It can really help stressed cats.

Can you keep Lucas in a room? leave some familiar things in there.... maybe his bed, blanket, his favorite things..... a place to hide..... I do think that keeping him in a small room away from the loud noises all the confusion might help :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

I am so very sad and sorry that your dear Lucas, and you, have to endure this.

But, yes, I agee, if his problems are from extreme sress and anxiety, then he should have the relief from this misery that modern medicine can offer. I hope your vet can offer you some medication to help him with this transition.

God Bless! Tammy, to you and Lucas!

Thank you all, since today and tomorrow will be too stressful for Lucas I'm keeping him in my room and he has all his stuff with him.  I'm thinking that if he gets worse in the new house I will take him to the vet again so he can tell me what to do or prescribe something for him.  I'm very worried because his tremors are back and I even worry about him getting  a heart attack or something.

Oh Tammy.  I am so very sorry you are going through all of this.  And poor Lucas too.  I don't know if this will help but have you given any thought to the pheromone diffusers?  You might put one in the current house and 1 or 2 in the new house to calm him down a bit.  The only reason I suggest this is because it has worked for me in the past with a stressed out cat.  My thoughts are with you on this and hope it all works out
