Hi all, I just have a question. Today, when I took Angel out on his leach & he pooped, it was a normal solid poop, 2-3 regular size, but on the second one I noticed a film of mucus. Then, after the solid ones, had some soft come out. Not diarrhea, just "soft serve." (sorry for the graphics, the girls @ the vet.'s office & I are always joking about how we compare consistency to food for description). So, my question is, has anyone seen this before. I think it's probably fine, just some mucus making it's way out. (he has sneezed a couple of times as he was smelling around in the grass, me too(sneezy) as things are starting to bloom out there)  He eats Natural Balance (chicken & liver,  Turkey & giblets, & sometimes Duck & Green Pea) wet morning & dinner ( to put his L-lysine in ea. for 2x/day) & munches on Nat. Bal. dry during the day, & later @ night.(cause only eats about 1/3-1/2 a can.)  Normal poop??

Well, I would say just to keep an eye on him and see if it develops into anything (like diarrhea, or in your case...chocolate pudding
)

I usually give my cats a little plain yogurt whenever I see loose stools in the litter box.  seems to work like a charm.  (now I'm starting them on pro-biotics daily, though, so hopefully won't need yogurt anymore.)

I wouldn't worry about it yet. Sometimes cats just have some poop issues for no apparent reason and it's just a one time thing. I'd just keep an eye on him and see if it returns. If it does I'd get a fecal done on him.

You may also want to put him on probiotics and digestive enzymes to help balance his stomach. Some better pet stores carry it. You can also buy FortiFlora from your vet too but that's usually way overpriced. Or get it online.

Thanks guys, seems to have been a one time thing. He's been fine, or ahh, the poop was normal today. Yea, I recently just ran out of some digestive enzymes I bought for him from Petco.com. I need to get some more.  Thanks for the feed back!
