Cheeto, my 10 month old furbaby was scratching his ear when all of a sudden I heard him crying because his claw was stuck in his ear. He kept crying and trying to get it out. I tried to help him with the paw but he just avoided me. I tried to pull it and he cried some more. Luckily within a few minutes he got it out on his own. This scared me. I've never had this happen. No bleeding, thank goodness.

Anyone ever have this happen?

I take him to the vet every few weeks to get them cut. He doesn't cooperate with me. Plus he is always shedding his nails on his scratching post. I felt so helpless. My poor baby.

Oh my! You might want to think about investing in beach or lake, or park, or woods, go scouting for a really nice tree limb- bring it home, scrub it, hose it off, and dry it then put it inside for him to scratch on. The hardness of it will blunt his claws a bit if he uses it. Just watch the ear for heat or swelling, and if either occur get your cat to the vet immediately as infection has started to set in and the cat will need antibiotics.
