I invested in 2 more cat carriers

Now that I have 3 cats, 2 carriers isn't cutting it anymore.

Spence and Katie are twins from the same litter and get along. But sharing a carrier caused issues this last time.  All 3 of my kids were so traumatized about having to be carted back and forth to the vet on 3 different occasions, in less than a 2 week period. On one occasion they had to have a flea bath too!  Poor Spence and Katie were growling and swiping at each other in the large carrier.   On the return home after the second boarding, the vet loaned me a carrier. I used it when I had to take them for their 3rd boarding, and a duffle bag for Katie on the way home.

I went to Walmart on Saturday and bought a medium carrier, and a small one for Katie. She's rather small, and the small carrier is large enough for her to turn around if she needs to.  Abby and Spencer would fit into a small, but they wouldn't be able to turn around, and the opening is kind of small for me to be able to get them into very easily.

I just wish that carriers came with wheels. It would be so much easier. I use a luggage pull cart for one carrier, but have to carry the other, which is why I preferred for the twins to share. But obviously separate carriers is a better idea for them. I don't want them to be fighting, let alone inside a small closed space.

It's always good to have at least 1 carrier per cat, or at least as many as all of yours can fit into without fighting. I realized this after I had a fire in my home years ago. I had 11 cats and only 4 carriers at the time. I acquired more carriers after that happened.

Even if you only take your cats to the vet a couple at a time, having enough carriers for an emergency evacuation is a good thing.

My MIL has a cat carrier on wheels that is more like carry on luggage with wheels instead of the 4 wheeled model Nebula posted (kind of like the 4 wheeled model better though). It's nylon instead of hard sided and is padded on the bottom. There is heavy duty mesh in the front and the sides up to allow ventilation. The only thing is cleaning it was hard since it won't turn inside out. The last time I borrowed it, Harley pooped very runny poo and cleaning was a PITA! But for taking a healthy cat for check ups and shots, it would be perfect. The last time we took LittleOne in to the vet in her carrier she just curled up and went to sleep (which she NEVER does in a hard carrier!).

This is very close to what she has, only I think her's is a little bigger:

Wow! That thing is huge! I guess if you lived next door to the vet it would be ideal, but for living in an apartment, with 3 cats, and taking a cab? No so good.

That one is rather neat. I'll check the pet stores around here.  With my back problems, it's very difficult for me to carry full carriers.  When I came home with them the last time, I found a grocery shopping cart outside and loaded up all 3 carriers into it and it was so much easier.

I think the one I posted is more like a stroller, daily walks etc- Not an actual carrier. But still cool.... DH says no :(
