Hello, everybody! You might have seen me already from this post at the Behaviour section, but if not, I'll introduce myself and my furbaby, soon to be furbabies (FINALLY wore down my partners reserves with the "no more cats" rule)!

This is my 5, going on 6, year old grey with green/sometimes yellow eyed DSH Rinsewind (misspelling on purpose; the people who named him was listening to Terry Pratchett's The Colour of Magic and assumed that the spelling was with an 's' rather than a 'c'), whom we rescued from the RSPCA 2 years ago. He's FIV+, and indoor only to protect his weakened immune system, but he hasn't been sick, so we reckon he's going to live a very long life.

This is the first image I saw of Rinsewind, and immediately fell in love with him!

The first night I got him, I set him in my room and left him for around 5 hours. Then when I went to feed him, I looked under the bed and saw a dark shape. Thinking it was RW, I sat and talked to it for a good 20 minutes, until I realised that it hadn't moved. When I turned a light on it, I saw that it was just my empty guitar case. Cue confused face, and slow-motion turn around, to face the cupboard, where he was above me, staring me down with fire and brimstone in his eyes. Gave me a fright! But later that night, as I got into bed, he hopped up, laid down, and stuck his paw in my hand.

And that's where he's been since!

As mentioned, we're also adopting a black and white with green/yellow eyed female FIV+ cat called Sylvia (née Della), who is 4 years old. She seems really friendly, but any cat seems friendly when they're in the RSPCA, because they're so hungry for attention and stimulation. But the staff have really taken to her, and they all say how affectionate she is, so I really hope that when we get her, that she settles in nicely with us.

This is the only picture we have of her, at the moment, but when we get more pictures, I'll upload them to the Pusskins folder on my profile.

Thank you for reading this rather long-winded post, but once I start talking about my cats I start to ramble and don't stop until I notice the glazed look in other people's eyes. But I don't think I have to worry about that here!
I've also started a FIV+ group on here for those furbabies that have been diagnosed, where we can offer support to each other, and show people that it's not a death sentence!

Just to end on, I'll leave some pictures of RW that my partner took on a camera that isn't my phone's camera.

Hi and welcome to TCS! :wavey:
That's wonderful that you adopted two FIV+ kitties. Now they get to be loved and looked after like every cat deserves.

The black and white one looks like mine. I think they are neat it's like the best of both worlds they can blend in with dark stuff with their dark back but their white paws almost glow in the dark.

I'm always happy to hear when a FIV+ kitty gets a chance at being happy and loved like that!!

She does! Yours has a lovely black eyepatch, and Sylvia looks like she has a Zorro mask on
I've just had a look through your photos, and you can leash walk your cat! I was thinking about it, as a form of exercise for RW, but feel that the potential health risks outweigh the cute factor of seeing him gallop on grass.

MoochNNoodles, he has such a soft underbelly, but he doesn't like it being touched. We went to see Sylvia today and she flopped onto her back and let us give her a belly rub! Little cutie.

The RSPCA was worried that she would be there for a while, and said they were really happy that she's going to go to a home so soon, cos they really like her.
