Is my little girl too little?

I have a sweet little tabby girl. She's either five or six months old: the vet paperwork from her spay surgery and the paperwork from the shelter where I rescued her have two different birth dates.

I'm a bit concerned that she may be too little. I've had another cat for eleven years and he's always been huge - he's 15lbs, and not fat - so I don't exactly know what a 'normal' kitten size is, especially for females. But my kitten is, as I said, either 5 or 6 months old, and stands 8 inches tall and 14 inches long, not including her tail. When I got her, her paws were so tiny that they were the size of my thumb pad/print. Now, her paw pads are slightly bigger than my thumb pad, but only by a matter of milimetres. Her weight is normal.

She eats and drinks a lot and uses the litterbox frequently. She's on Iams, if that makes a difference (FTR, my enormous cat is also on Iams),

Does she sound too small to anyone else?

Even if she is on the small side there is nothing you can do about it!

Is she active?  Good coat?  Sparkly eyes?  Playful when awake?  If so she is just fine.

She's incredibly active and playful, and her coat is the softest and shiniest I've ever seen on a cat. I wouldn't really call her eyes super-sparkly but they're bright and clear. To be honest I'd love it if she stays tiny - as long as it doesn't compromise her health, of course. So there's probably nothing to worry about?

I wouldn't worry, I have never taken length measurements of my Annabelle, but she is almost 3 now and still only 6lbs. She was tiny as a kitten, and just stayed. She looks like an older kitten if you didn't know any better.

Cats vary quite a bit in their physical makeup, and not least in size.  Our Flambe is less than 6 lbs.  Nothing we can do has seemed to put any weight on him.

I believe Homer, Gwen Cooper's blind cat (look it up), is only 3 lbs, and he's fully grown.
