Hi

We have been having this beautiful orange tabby coming in our garden and sitting with oscar and lucy. They don't get very close to him, but just sit and clean themselves and look at each other.

Yesterday I saw oscar head bump the orange boy and then they sort of did a little cry type of meow to each other and then the had a little game of chase.

So.... basically does this mean they are friends?

Lucy sniffs the orange boy too, but she isn't that happy to make friends with other cats, however she will tolerate them.

Thankies

Sounds like the 2 males are playing to me, until you see any physical damage there shouldn't be any issues (they're probably both neutered and well fed, so there's real reason to fight).

Head bumping is a sign of acceptance and/or affection between cats. They often do this as a means to say "hi". I head bump with my cats - it's a way to communicate to them in their language.
