My cats are due for vaccination soon and I was wondering what the current info is on 1 vs 3 year rabies vaccination. I've read that people say the 3 year one is not good and has a higher cancer risk. However I asked my vet about it and she said that if it is between getting it every 3 years vs. every year, there probably is not a much greater risk because if you are giving every year they get more injections than with the 3 year so there may be more chance of a reaction due to that...

What brand of 1-year vaccine does your vet use? If it's Purevax, there is less chance of vaccine-associated sarcoma but anecdotal evidence seems to suggest a higher chance of an anaphylactic reaction. If it's not Purevax, it's exactly the same as the 3-year vaccine.

Yes, that's what I was told, it's not the actual injection, it's what is being injected.
