I've been so stressed out with this whole moving, that I just need to get out and relax and do something just for me and not think about anything.  So I made an appointment for a manicure (Gel nails) and a pedicure. I'm going to make sure I get the package where I get a foot massage!!!

I can't wait!!!!!

I need a pedicure, I might go for one next week. I don't bother getting manicures anymore. My nails grow so fast and I had to get them filled every week. It got to be way too expensive.

Enjoy yours.
I loooove the foot massage that you get with it. I have only ever had that once but it was so relaxing and I plan to get that every time from now on.

I got the gel nails but no pedicure :)

Before I left Abby and I got into an accidental tussel!  She walked in front of me as I was taking a step and in my attempt to avoid stepping on her and her attempt to rub up against me, I ended up stepping on her paw which sent her scrambling, but not before she caught my toe with one of her hind nails in her haste to get away. It was only a small cut, but I didn't want to take the chance of infection, so I'm going to go for the pedicure in 2 weeks when I go and get the gel filled on my nails.

It was a novel experience!  A guy did my nails!!!!  He did a great job too! I'm very impressed.  I went for the white tips, French Manicure style. I had him cut them quite short so they are only about 2 or 3 mm over the tip of my finger.  I was going more for nice looking nails than for length.  My nails are aweful most of the time anyway. They are so thin, yet they peel and peel and break. But all of this moving really did a job on them.  So now I have pretty nails again.

Looking forward to my pedicure though!!

I love getting manicures but I am allergic to the glue they use. As for a pedicure, they would take one look at my feet and run the other way screaming!  I have very weird toe nails. Very small nail bed and my little toes just have a blob of nail material not a real nail.

You can still go for a pedicure! It's not only about the nails. It's about callous removal, massage and just general relaxation!

How did it go?

I replied a couple posts up.

It went well.  A guy did them. That was a first for me!  They had a sale going on so for the gel nails it was only $28.00. I have a cut on my toe so I didn't have the pedicure. I'm too freaked about infections, especially now that I know I'm diabetic. I need to be especially careful with my feet.

I'm going back in 2 weeks for a nail fill and the pedicure.

The place is one of those mall style nail salons with a wall of pedicure chairs and several stations for nails.  I went to one some months back with a friend and it was a  hack job, literally.  The whole pedicure was about 15 or 20 minutes long. The water was ice cold. My feet weren't allowed to soak. I put my feet into the water and immediatey was told to take one out and put it on the foot rest and then she started.  She was so darn ruff, she was hurting me.  Plus they were all wearing masks and hospital gloves. The whole thing totally freaked me out!

When I saw the place today, I was leary, but I had made the appointment, so I stayed. Glad I did!

This particular salon has been around for 12 years and this is the third location for them, the other 2 are stand alone stores outside of malls. They are not affiliated with that place I went to across town.  I asked about the pedicures and if they include foot massages, and I was told that they do. They also exfoliate the lower leg below the knee, at no additional cost.

A girl came in for a pedicure while I was getting my nails done, and the girl doing the pedicure didn't have a mask on, or gloves and I saw that she was taking her time. She let the girl soak her feet for about 10 minutes before starting her work, and she asked her if she wanted some tea or coffee.  And when she started to work, she looked like she was being gentle and not trying to speed through.
