I came home to find a dead mouse on my floor. It looks like it's been dead for quite some time though. My main concern is that we have chemicals in the garage such as poisons etc, and that if the mouse got into one of those items, that it could harm the cats if they get a hold of the mouse. Does anyone know signs I should look for? Not sure where it was found or which one of the cats found it. But on the side of the head looks like one of the cats had it in it's mouth. I took pictures, so other's who may have more experience may have ideas. So now my mind is filled with worry that one of the cats is going to get sick. Not to mention I think they can get worms from mice right? Or rabbies. My cats are not vaccinated because they are all indoor cats and I am highly anal about them getting out of the house. I didn't worry about mice because it's the 1st mice we've seen in the house in 3 years since we moved here. I can only hope that the mouse my cats found died of natural causes and did NOT die from eating poison or other car fluids in the garage!
Needless to say tomorrow I'm promptly going to Menards and getting those things you plug into the wall that keep both bugs and mice out of the house! There will be one upstairs, downstairs and in all garages! (we have 2 one unattached and one attached to the house) Does anyone have any of those type of things, and how well do they work?
Thanks!
Mel
