Hey everyone!
I'm Jen, mom to Guinness (13 year old DSH), Callie (7 year old DSH), Roscoe (2 year old Choc. Lab) and Willow (8 year old Human).
I stumbled onto this site while looking for stories or anecdotes or whatnots about Hepatic Lipidosis. I'll probably copy and paste this into another thread in the health section... but...
Callie was dx'd with HL today. We've started the aggressive assisted-feeding regimen and are hopeful, but realistic. I took her to the vet today, fully expecting not to come home with her. We were incredibly heart-broken at the thought of losing her, and are so happy to have her with us tonight. (And hopefully for many nights to come.)
She's in her own room... Guinness is a food stealer and will eat everything in sight, if we let him. He cries at the door, when I'm in with Callie, sticking his paw underneath for dramatic effect. "Come on, guys... I can smell it from here!"
Anyway, I'm glad to have found this place, and I hope that I will continue to have good news.
Jen
