Itchy Kitty and Wellness Core Turkey/Chicken

Hi everyone. Can a cat become itchy, eating only canned Wellness Core Turkey, if it hasn't been a problem in the past 12 months? I appreciate the help.

Yes, it's absolutely possible. Is that the canned CORE? What happens if you feed something else?

Canned is correct, and thanks for responding. I did find out that he had a small bowl of whiskas dry each day for 2 weeks. This was about a week ago, and the person didn't know, so there still alive. This hasn't been the case for a week. The same person gave him catnip during those two weeks, which I also stopped. Any thoughts about this?

Switching up foods is a good idea for cats. That way they don't start to develop allergies to the same protein over and over. I would think that the itching and allergic reaction is from the Whiskas since you just found out this has been added to the cats diet in the last two week. I would stick to the Wellness products and try some other good quality grain-free canned foods to rotate as well.

I'm gonna try something new tonight. I think it's a good idea, since you both brought it up.
