Rick and I give each other a VDay card and we always receive a card from the cats.
But that's pretty much it. If the holiday falls on the weekend, I'll make Rick breakfast in bed. But other than that, no.

He did say he would make dinner tonight. But I'm not excited....he's been hungry for BBQ (like homemade Manwich), so I have a feeling that's what he's making. And that's OK with me, too.

We have dinner plans tonight :heart3: :heart3: at our favorite Italian restaurant that we only go to on special occasions. We give each other cards. AND the cat's got daddy some cards too. YEP - they make Valentine's Day cards from dogs and cats now :lol3:

We went out to dinner LAST night because we knew everything would be crazy busy today. Today Dana gave me a beautiful card and made me a wonderful dinner.
Now we're just getting ready to curl up and watch a movie.

ok - don't laugh --- but we went to Costco, did our shopping there,  and had a hot dog and coke!     Isn't that super romantic?

But tomorrow we're going to City Furniture to order the TV stand we like and then to the TV store to order the new 51" plazma TV.    So I guess that takes care of Valentines Day!

Oh --- happy Valentine to everyone on TCS.

We bought each other cards (both were cards with kitties on them
) and then tonight we cooked dinner and drank some wine (which essentially is what we do every night - dinner and a glass of wine) so nothing overly special. I did dress up in heart clothing today and wore a big heart hair bow to celebrate at work today!

My husband surprised me. I thought he was going to come home and we would have dinner and then go to the gym, like usual. He told me there was traffic (so I wouldn't wonder why he was late getting home). He comes in the house with flowers and my favourite chocolates. He also stopped and picked up my new glasses for me. Then he took me out to dinner and said we could go to a movie and I could choose the movie. I said no to the movie because I had some homework to do and I have class at 8am and didn't want to be out until midnight.

Over the river and through the woods...
Our Valentine's day? We both worked, I picked him up and we went to Wal-Mart to pick up pellets for the stove and a few other things. We splurged on 2 burgers at McDonald's, then came home and got on the computer. The Valentine's Day celebration comes later (if you know what I mean
). While a dinner out would have been nice (well, I guess I got that at McD's), we really don't have the money for a "good" dinner, but at least I didn't have to cook.

DH actually apologized for not getting me roses. I told him, if you want to get me flowers get me a plant that I can enjoy for years instead of something that will die in a week. I never really understood the purpose of cut flowers. I always appreciate the gesture and the thought, but it was always something else I knew I would have to clean up.

We had classes all day but when we got home, my boyfriend made a wonderful dinner for me (a very rare occasion indeed!). He refused to let me help and made me sit on the couch until he could serve me. He also brought me beautiful bouquet of calla lilies
. I made him a cute valentine the night before and made my own version of Baileys Irish cream - his favorite, but he can't have it now that he's vegan. It is SO good, even better than the real kind! It uses coconut milk and soy creamer. The coconut milk makes it frothy and delicious!
