Just had to share the cutest thing that happened tonight.

Somehow bandit accidentally got locked in a closer (dunno, his daddy closed the door and nobody thought to check)

Anyway, Smokie comes out of the room like 10 minutes later and starts going nuts, scratching at the door and meowing. We have no idea what is going on, so we open the closet- nothing.

This continues for a good 10 minutes, until he (smokie) starts turning circles and meowing non stop. We knew something was in there, suddenly- out pops bandit!!

Have your cats ever alerted you of a brother or sister in crisis?? :)

LoL no, Mine would probably laugh and walk away or if there was a key I could see them running and buring it in the litterbox.

Fred brought home a abused and neglected cat from down the street in a small trailer park. He was a beautiful black cat, and the two young girl that had him mistreated him. Not only did Fred bring him home, he would go crap on their front porch occasionally. I guess that was his commentary on the way they treated his little friend.

Yep!  Back when I had Chynna, she loved to sleep inside the pots cupboard in the kitchen. I was usually pretty good at keeping one cupboard open, but even if I didn't, she knew how to open that one cupboard door.

One day I guess when I was washing dishes I closed the door and didn't realize.  Abby was beside herself. She was meowing at the door and pawing at the bottom trying to open it.  I looked and saw the door closed and went and opened it figuring she wanted to go inside.  When I opened it there was Chynna sound asleep on the shelf.

Abby was rescuing her making sure she wasn't locked in.

Chynna was safe though. She knew how to open it from the inside too....just push with her head and it popped open.

Almost the exact same thing happens when Memphis gets shut in my roommate's room when he goes to sleep. Memphis likes to sleep in a bin in my roommate's closet and sometimes he forgets to check. Tails will sit in front of the door for a long time, then eventually he will scratch at the door, meow, and try to turn the door knob open. He has opened the door before, but usually one of us will hear him first and pop the door open for Memphis to bolt out.

When I was still living with my parents, Rudy broke the screen and fell out and ended up running away (luckily the screen was over the deck so he didn't fall far). We didn't notice for a few hours, until Abby (RIP) came upstairs and started meowing at my mom like crazy. Abby was always very quiet and timid, and never meowed. She also didn't get along with Rudy. She had my mom follow her all the way downstairs and started meowing at the broken screen! Such a smart girl. Rudy was missing for 2 weeks but we found him safe and sound.

We used to feed a stray that we called "Scaredy-Cat", even though he really wasn't.  He roamed the neighborhood for probably 5 or 6 years.  One morning I went out to feed him, and there was a cute little gray and white kitten with him.  The kitten was a scaredy-cat, and it took me what seemed like forever to gain his trust.  We decided to bring the kitten in because he was such a little guy.  ( we never brought Scaredy Cat in because we thought he might actually belong to someone; he always disappeared during the winter months )  The day we brought the kitten in was the last day we saw Scaredy Cat---he never came back.  We searched the neighborhood for him several tims, but never found him.

The kitten he brought to us is now 8 years old, probably weighs 20 pounds, and is called Rufus.  I've always wondered why Scaredy Cat brought him to us.
