So I managed to get a date for Valentine's day but I'm not sure what to do and where to go. Any ideas?

Just to narrow things down a bit:

1. We both get home pretty late from work and so won't be leaving until about 8pm, and probably won't be up for any huge excursions.

2. It won't be a dinner date.

3. We like to dance (like salsa dancing) but there's nothing really close to home.

4. It is a first date

5. She's a great woman; the kind of girl that a guy would marry and make the mother of his kids. So if this works out I kinda want to do something cool and memorable for our first date.

6. At the same time I don't want this to be some high-pressure thing.

Maybe go out for ice cream? I dunno.

Have you asked her what she wants to do? Me and my husband still don't know what to do for Valentine's Day but it probably involves taking our kids to dinner and making sure THEY have fun :lol3: ... What about drinks at a local restaurant then watching a funny movie at your place or her place????

hmmm not a dinner date.....that makes it hard because at least for me there's nothing nicer than a nice meal out.    For my first date with my boyfriend of 5 years, (of course this was earlier in the evening) we walked around the mall just talking then we went out to the Olive Garden(my weakness) followed by bowling and finishing with a movie.  Our first date was even on Valentine's Day too.

It was a very simple date but very memorable and since almost 5 years later we're still seeing each other and are now living together, he must have done something right :-)

So I guess what I should say is do something simple yet fun. .

"Her place" would be awkward b/c she still lives with her parents. "My place" would be awkward in a different way b/c it's a first date and the time isn't right for being alone together yet. I'm thinking "a fun public place" right now. We both like to dance but (to my complete surprise) there's very little going on! Perhaps all the staffers want to celebrate the day too :)

I think you're on the right track with an ice cream date or maybe just going out for dessert at a restaurant.  You'd have a public place, and probably somewhere fairly quiet where you could talk.
