I have only bathed one of my two cats, Tails, and that was because he had runny poop that got stuck to his fur when I first got him due to me transitioning him to something higher quality than science diet. He hates water more than anything, and it's the only time he tries to stick his claws in me. Even then it's to get a better grip to jump off me, nothing malicious. Given how he is, there is no way I can take the time to grab my phone and snap some pictures.
However, I HAVE gotten pictures of him in his towel-coccoon. This one is when he was 8 weeks old, and he's all tuckered out from trying to escape the bath. Sorry it's blurry, I had to take it from a weird angle since I'm still holding him.
For those of you wondering, I'm referring to the photo of the cat in his cocoon. I thought the reply would post under that picture.
The one getting the ringworm treatment looks absolutely delighted, don't you think? It's the same expression we have when we go to the dentist!
My cats actually liked being bathed. What they don't like is me laughing at them when they're dripping wet and their faces look like ET's, with their eyes looking much larger than normal. You realize how little cat there is versus the amount of hair. My boy Eric has short hair, so there isn't that much of a difference. but Sarah has medium-length hair, and she looks really small when wet. Her eyes look disproportionately large, so that's why she reminds me of ET.
She doesn't mind being wrapped in a beach towel and curling up with me afterwards, but Eric does. He'll put up with it for about 20 minutes, then he's struggling to get free. Then his hair is sticking up all over the place -- he looks like he has mohawks all over his body.
Of course, after they start grooming themselves in an effort to regain some dignity and dry themselves off, here come the hairballs!
Our new guy Wheatley has had 2 baths since we adopted him in Nov. Both times, no crying or scratching - very strange!! My husband is allergic, so I do this to help control dander.
So far, so good! I find it very surprising that he tolerates is so well, but maybe he got them with his previous owner? He is just over a year old, so it's possible. It would also explain why the spray bottle did not deter him from bad behavior...
Is she getting a Lyme sulfur dip? We had to do that with 5 cats at the shelter like weekly till we made sure they didn't have RW anymore. Stinks like eggs!
