Had two ferals in my back yard that I feed every day on my back porch. I named them Baby and Calie and believe they were sisters. Cali disappeared and I am afraid of what may have happened. Baby the friendliest is left and I decided to take her in to my home. Whe she was outside she allowed me to pat her even pick her up. I caried her in Tuesday night and put food and a liter box in the bathroom. She went behind the toliet and would not come out. In the middle of the night she moved behind the washer/dryer combo and appears not to have left the spot to eat , drink or use the box. Today is Thursday and she hasn`t eaten , I am worried abouy her health. She looks so sad and scared, any suggestions??? How long can she go without water and food, its been 2 days now. My heart hurts watching this. Please any help out there??

I found the text in this book spot on, but the illustrations aren't helpful at all. Good over all book

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

Sorry about Cali and it is possible that she will come back. Now with Baby. You say you moved her into the bathroom? She hid behind a toilet? Is there a washer/dryer in the bathroom? The reason Baby was more friendly outside was because that was the only life/environment she knew and she was safe and secure with that. When we bring in these kittens ( I am assuming kitten ) from outdoors into the indoors - it is a completely whole new world that they have never, ever seen before. Try to imagine this yourself.... pretty scary and Baby has no clue what has happened to her in the last two days. She is terrified. I always recommend a small room with no hiding places that are unaccessible to you. The only way to get her out of there is to pull out the washer/dryer completely so she darts out - but have another place for her to run and hide in. Ideally a large dog crate with a dark blanket over it. She might run into that right away. IF she does close the door to the crate and start over with her in a small room with no hiding places other than a little covered crate and a kitty cube. Something like that.
This is really tricky because if you don't get her out of the back of the washer - she will always run and hide when you come into the room and you will get no where with socialization. Eventually she will come out to eat..... Feral kittens/cats are used to going a day or two without food, unfortunately. BUT I would not let it go much longer than that. Tonight - I would leave out a dish of very enticing food - Fancy Feast is good - a little bit of tuna is good - something to get her smelling that food and her hunger will win over and she will venture out to eat during the night hours.
IF not - then I would take drastic measures to pull out those appliances and get her to run out. This is not the best at all though because she will be so much more frightened but it must be done.
Since she was friendly with you outside - then she will eventually trust you again inside. Unfortunately, the room you put her in had one of the best places for ferals to hide - in the back of a washing machine. I am so sorry - but somehow you have to get her out of there and into a very small room with no place to hide like that. She must learn to interact with you - that is the only way and if she can hide from you each day - believe me - she will and it could be a very long time for you to even see her.
Please let us know and I hope other's will come along with some more suggestion on how to get Baby out of the back of the washer
