Would this be ok to add to Hobo's wet food? I worked at the shelter that I adopted him from and we used to add it to all the cats wet food. It was actually a horse L-lysine.

Does he have herpes flare-ups? If not, he doesn't really need it. But so many cats DO carry the herpes virus, and L-Lysine can help prevent flare-ups, and reduce their duration when they happen. It's perfectly OK to add it to their food. I give our Billy 500mg daily. ( 1/4 teaspoon, split into two doses. I add water to his food - helps dissolve it. :) ). We buy the loose powder. Here's a thread discussing what brands people use and where to get them: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/239337/where-do-you-buy-your-l-lysine

He gets watery eyes sometimes, never both at once. Idk if he has FVR though. His yearly is coming up within the month. I think I will have a full blood test run including thyroid panel.

Well, it's always a good idea to have full blood work done at an annual, but it won't tell you if he's got the herpes virus. But with that watery eye, I'd definitely add the L-lysine!
