I've had both my cats on Proviable probiotic for a month and a half as they both were having bad diarrhea from antibiotics. Since then they both have been so healthy on it and the issues are all gone they are like new cats and they have been more active and playful too I am so happy for them!

The probiotics are nearly gone, is it ok to stop giving them it since they are healthy now? Will they stay healthy or is there a chance the diarrhea and lethargy could come back?

I can't say for sure.... hopefully someone else will have a better answer :lol3: You might be able go do a different brand - maybe Prozyme or Animal Essentials Plant Enzymes and Probiotics??? I think a lot of people just keep their cats/dogs on an enzyme/probiotic supplement. It won't do any harm at all to keep them on something like that. :)

It is really your choice to stop or continue..... It is not necessary to keep them on though.... unless they have a condition such as IBD, for example....
There was a study, not long ago, I believe on UC Davis, that showed showed the relationship of one specific strain of probiotic that happens to be on Proviable, and increased immunity/possibly helping with longevity. All ofmy cats are on probiotics because they are few a raw diet (also Proviable-DC), and if they were not fed this diet, Bugsy would continue on it because of his IBD.
It will not harm them - only help.... :wavey:

Interesting how do you give a cat probiotics? Is it a powder? My dog has had capsules before. If you decide to stop them I would slowly wean the cats off it.

No need to wean down.
It is a capsule - you open it and mix the contents with the food....
