Okay, I was browsing through msn.com and came acrosse a video that was shot in Canada of this workers of some sort recording in the wilderness capturing what sounded like a loud metallic like groaning sound.  Upon further web browsing on the subject I found that these noises were actually being heard by people all over the world.

Now I don't want to get into "the end of the world" with anyone BUT I am interested in finding out if anyone here has actually heard these noises.

I've read/seen reports from Canada, New York, Maine, the Ukraine, England, Spain, Denmark, Russia, France, Arizona, Colorado, California.....I could go on and on. Look up the noises on Youtube, there's tons of them. I guess a whole stadium of people watching a baseball game at Tropicana Stadium (in PA?) heard the noise during the game.      I've been watching some of the videos and the noise is pretty freaky lol.

So any of the TCS people heard any of these noises? If so, where are you at?

I don't believe it.  That type of thing is so easy to fake.  Someone holding a video camera while a plane goes over head so you hear engines.  Or tapping on something off camera. Like those supposed pics of Big Foot.  Some guy in a gorilla suit.

Just too easy to fake imo.

I beleive and don't beleive lol.     I bet one of those people who shot the footage of at least one of those videos, honestly beleived what he was hearing was really coming from the earth or from where ever. Whether or not the noise was what he or everybody else thought it was is a totally different story. In some of the videos, the noise almost sounds like a large ship's horn or something large and metal creaking. Who knows how close those people were to a shipyard or another area that could create that noise.....actually you want to hear something that sounds exactly like some of the noise in some (not all) of the videos?  Youtube the Tripod Sound from War of the Worlds.     Sounds pretty much exactly like it....almost like its straight from the movie ;-)

Do you have a link to an article about what you are talking about?  I'm curious to read more about this, but I don't know what to search Google for.

Well this is the video that got me curious

Pretty much just google or youtube  "strange sounds in sky 2011(or 2012)" and you'll get tons of stuff. Most of the top links in the google search are a bunch of conspiracy websites either saying that a)its the Trumpets of Heaven sounding the start of the apocolypse, b) its aliens  c) Its NASA's "Blue Beam Project" which is I guess a huge plan that involves launches dozens of sattelites into orbit that will project images to every area of religions sky to hopefully unite the whole world under 1 united religion.

Here's a link to a more trustworthy site explaining or talking about the sounds, http://geochangemag.org/index.php?o...d-by-scientists-&catid=1:global-news&Itemid=9

Sorry for the typos, I'm in a hurry lol

My boyfriend and I heard a really loud BOOM one night and it scared us so much. It shook the apartment a little bit too. My boyfriend says he has felt them before, and people here in Wilmington call them "Seneca guns". We're not really sure what causes them, but some people believe it's caused by plates shifting in the ocean. I think it's so cool! There's a link about it here: http://www.myreporter.com/?p=1275

This sounds like the noises in some of the videos.  In some of the videos I've watched, it almost sounds like distant cannon fire or something.  So it sounds like you two heard the sounds so I guess it means that there are some strange noises going on after all

My theory is that it has to do with Solar Flares.  They emit a super high level of radiation, and the sound might be getting picked up on radio waves.

EDIT:  Yep. I'm convinced it's because of the Solar storms we've been having.  Here is an article about the storms this year and how in the past they have actually caused blackouts in cities.

http://www.denverpost.com/ci_19799420?source=bb

And the sounds heard on the 23rd, was only 4 hours or less after a solar flare was sent towards earth.

I've been told that the aurora makes a sound. . .but haven't been able to confirm for myself :(. I don't know why we're not getting the aurora now, with all the solar storms. I look for it every time I'm outside at night. So that might be what it is, or, with all the earthquakes lately, it could be tectonic plates.

I'm from Eastern Canada so I haven't heard any out here, but I have many friends who are living out west and I've seen their Facebook status' regarding these noises. I don't overly believe them, but it still freaks me out. Especially when you see videos of the noise from all over the world!

Yeah, that's what the website that I put a link to says the noises are from, though it also states that "acoustic-gravity waves" (the noises) can also be made by the Earth's core. "the acceleration of the drift of the Earth's north magnetic pole which increased more than fivefold between 1998 and 2003 and is at the same level today points to intensification of energy processes in the Earth's core, since it is processes in the inner and outer core that form the Earth's geomagnetic field"    The article goes on and says that ATROPATENA geophysical stations almost simultaneously received a "powerful gravational impulse" from the earth's core on November 15, 2011.  What's interesting is that there's ATROPATENA stations in many of the cites that witnessed these sounds, including Kiev, Ukraine.

I know, its kind of easy to brush if off but when you get to thinking about it, it would be extremely scary to hear these noises yourself.

Try looking into this--this thread reminded me of something I remember seeing in a book somewhere (yeah, I know that pins it down for you!), the singing sands effect. I know a lumber camp in Alberta doesn't have sand dunes, but maybe it's a natural phenomena similar to that idea.:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hum  (look at the Unexplained sounds link, too. Interesting. I couldn't play the Julia, Bloop, Train sound links; but's they're are playable for me on youtube--and that has even more weird sounds: )

I can't claim how many of the videos are fake but I think a good number are. A guy on YT analyzed a number of them. The original video from Ukraine had a very distinct squeak in two parts of the video (One was a bird). When they guy replayed a few of the videos, they had the EXACT same squeaks. There are also several parodies people did showing how easy they are to mimic using The War of the Worlds sounds...and sounds form another movie, which I can't remember the title to at the moment.
There are people commenting on the videos saying they've heard "odd sounds from the earth" even years ago. Long before the internet, so it's hard to say.

I don't know of anyone personally who has heard those same sounds and I haven't...but if I do, I will be scared. lol and I will let you know.

Was the other movie Signs?  That's what it reminded me of.  Thank you all for sharing the links/comments.  I hadn't heard of this until now and it is fascinating.  The only strange thing I've seen/heard in my part of NC is what seems like an unusual number of buzzards and they're starting to freak me out a bit.

That sounds like a sonic boom. DH and I were in Tehachapi, CA when one of the shuttles was landing at Edwards Airforce Base. The whole place shook and there was a big boom. It is caused by a supersonic jet of some sort breaking the sound barrier.

That's what a lot of people believe it is, especially since we're close to the coast guard, but these noises have been documented since the 1800s!

The Supersonic boom is indeed loud and scary. I went to a class for work, years ago, when the SST landed and took off from Kennedy Airport. I can tell you-it felt and sounded like my car was exploding! However, since the SST program was stopped, and shuttles have also taken their last flight, I think the only thing that would make a noise like that BOOM is a military aircraft.

I've never heard the noises that the OP was talking about, but I can tell you I've seen Aurora Borealis and it makes no sound. I think the sound may sound like some kind of machinery in the forest-like a big logging machine maybe. I hope that's all it is. I've got plans for the next few years, and the end of the world would be a bummer.
