Hi everyone,

thought I'd introduce myself as I just joined- been reading all of these wonderful posts for a few days now though! Anyhow, my name's Eeva, I live in Finland with two wonderful Australian Terriers (Romeo and Tolstoy) and, of course, my beautiful cat, Noelle. She's about 4.5 yrs old, very affectionate, mischievous and determined, but very good-natured as well- she even tolerates my dogs.
I'm also in the process of getting another cat, a Maine Coon female 4.5 months old, and I'm already very nervous- will Noelle accept the newcomer, ever?!?

I'm going to try and attach a picture here of my beauty, hope it works!

Look forward to 'chatting' with you guys.

Welcome! I'm fairly new also. Your cat looks alot like my Miss Kitty Kat, not real original at naming. More later...

Hello and welcome to The Cat Site! I see you're studying philology, so I'd better not stray from the facts!

Noelle is beautiful! Tell us more about her when you have time.

I'm a member of Windy's Fan Club, which is a Finnish MSN web site devoted to Windy the Cat. So, I've had to learn a bit of Finnish: Lisää vastaus (reply), Uusi keskustelu (new thread), Lähetä (send) and Peruuta (cancel).

Between Windy's Fan Club and Björk Guðmundsdóttir (whose music I love) I'm becoming addicted to Scandanavians! Help!

Ah, hey now, you could get addicted to much worse things.

Anyhow, thanks for all the welcomes, this is a wonderfully friendly site, unlike some I've come accross. I've also had some pretty good laughs reading some of the threads, like about bathing cats... I've tried bathing Noelle once, and I'll never ever try it again (luckily she doesn't even really need baths). I had bloody scratches and claw marks going up from each of my arms to my shoulder and down my back, and I decided that unless I wanted some serious blood loss, Noelle would just have to keep herself clean.

This cat really is very determined, last night I saw her (again!) chasing away my younger dog- the minute the dog turned his back to Noelle, she'd attack his rear with both her claws and teeth, and look very innocent when the dog turned around to look at her. And when he turned away, the devil cat would do it again... Well, of course I rescued the poor dog after a few of these 'attacks'- and when I got the second dog, I was worried my two dogs would gang up on the cat!

Alright, sorry I keep going on and on about her, but I guess most of you on this site would be the same about your pets, so maybe for once I'll have an understanding audience when I talk (and talk, and talk) about my pets.

Welcome Eeva!
I don't think you have to worry about people rolling their eyes here.
We all love to talk about our babies!! I'd rather talk about my cats than my fiance!!
Noelle is beautiful!!!! She's the exact opposite of my Chloe!

I have always been partial to white cats. . . .(although, I don't have one at the present) Noelle looks so very "Innocent"

The last white cat I had was a male and I told my niece, who was 5 at the time,(she is now 25) that she could name him. I said, "Think of something WHITE; and, that might give you some ideas . . . . . " She came to me a few days later and said that she wanted to name him "Elmer." "Elmer?", I asked. "Yes", she said, "Elmer, like Elmer's Glue, you know, Aunt "D"?" (strange child!) We called the cat Elmer and he was with us for over 15yrs. . . . .

Hope to see you posting often, Eeva!

Eeva....I wanted to give you a better welcome than I did last time...the reason my welcome sounded so lifeless, was because I posted it right after losing one of my cats, so I just wanted to give you a better welcome.

WELCOME!!
