about two weeks ago i gave my cat some cream (i had no idea it could be so bad for cats!) and she hasn't ate properley since. for the first few days she was vomiting stomach acid and seemed to be having trouble chewing food and would just spit it out, so i thought she had a dental problem, took her to the vets and the vet had a look in her mouth but couldn't really see any significant problem, she did say there was abit of tartar build up on one tooth but she didn't seem to think it could be the cause of the problem, but she injected her with some painkillers just incase it was toothache and some antibiotics, and there was an improvement in her eating as she started eating small amounts of wet cat food, however after the painkiller had worn off she was still eating small amounts so it suggested it wasn't toothache. i then suspected it was a stomach problem and told the vets about the cream i'd given her and was told that you should never give a cat cream and that that could very well be causing the problem and they prescribed some stormogyl tablets, antepsin susp, zantac syrup and protexin professional powder. it's been very stressful and traumatic giving her the meds as you can imagine! and it seems to be making her worse as she doesn't eat at all for quite a few hours after i've given her it and she looks very sad for awhile afterwards so i feel that the stress of me forcing all this stuff down her is putting her off her food even more. when i don't give her the meds she eats small but quite regular amounts again but she still isn't eating how she would normally, she used to love her dry food and that was all she used to eat really but she hasn't ate any of that for 2 weeks, she's attempted to a few times and has ate the odd one here and there but then she just walks away. she seems perfectley fine in every other way and she still clearly has an appetite so it isn't a lack of appetite causing the problem. has anyone here had a cat before with an upset stomach, is it something that will clear up by itself? would appreciate anyones opinion and past experiences on this as it is becoming increasingly stressful.

I'd call the vet and ask if it's been that long.

Sounds like your kitty is really lactose intolerant...

Is she still sick or just off her food?

Have you tried foods that have a high smell effect like sardines, tuna or “gourmet” canned foods. Even kitty junk food can help get them over the hump.  The more smelly the food the more likely it is to tickle the cat’s olfactory senses.

Catnip can act as a natural digestive aid and appetite stimulant

If her bowl movements are normal you could call your vet and ask about a  appetite stimulant.

It may be that she now associates her food with getting sick.
