Leopard From Exotic Breakout in Ohio Euthanized

A leopard that was one of only a few animals that survived the incident in Zanesville was euthanized at the Columbus zoo.  He was hit by a door when being moved and sustained a spinal injury.  A vet at the zoo made the decision that he should be euthanized.  The animal was one of only a handful of survivors and ended up dying from an accident at the zoo.

This is OUTRAGEOUS!! mad4.gifmad4.gif How the heck can a so called qualified zoo, drop a metal gate on the back of this leopard?? I will tell you why, they killed this cat on purpose!! They did not want that leopard going back to it's original home where that man was killed and had his cats and other animals set free. And they say us PRIVATE owners are bad?? If this leopard was in my care, it would still be alive today. Jack Hanna's pride and joy, the Columbus Zoo, should be shut down for this careless act!!

I agree that it is outrageous. Safer practices should be in place. I, too, believe that if the leopard was in your care, it would be alive and well.

I don't think accusing the zoo of killing the leopard on purpose (at least at this point) is fair though. I didn't see anything online that supports your theory. As sad and horrible as it is - sometimes an accident is an accident.
