GRRRR... (vent... again...)

Thread Starter

OMG.  I finally hit a tipping point this morning.

A while ago on FB was a pic of a german sheppard who was hurt by evil children.  I don't want to go into details because this picture is burned into my mind.  It turned my stomach, and I threw my dinner away.  I couldn't eat.  I quit scrolling down on my FB for fear of seeing the pic again.  Finally I scrolled down, and found someone else had posted the same pic.  REALLY!?!?!

Then today I see another pic on FB of a couple of evil guys with a puppy (I won't say what the pic was of, but not the kind of pic I wanted to see.)

I am so uber sick of people posting pics of hurt animals.  I don't want to see them.  Awareness is one thing, I understand the more aware we are, the more we can do.  I feel trapped on my FB simply because I fear scrolling down to see more pics like this.  I don't want to see it anymore.  IF I wanted to see pics of abused, and hurt, and disfigured animals I would seek them out.

GRRRRR!!!

Sorry, had to get it out.  All the posting on FB just isn't helping.

:) Be safe.

That's one reason that I am not on facebook,a lot of others spoil it for people, its just disgusting. Although a lot of people don't agree about charging for a facebook account as they were in talks about last year I do think that it may cut down on these kinds of things. I am so sorry hun that you had to see such vile imageshugs.gif Some people are just disgusting and in my mind just censor.gifmad4.gif It really makes my blood boil.xx

I don't agree with reposting those to support "awareness."  We don't need those graphic images to be aware of it.  If anything I think it just fuels people who get a rise out of hurting animals.  It breaks my heart.

I really hate that photo.  I just want to know that the dog is fine, has a prosthesis (SP?) and is living a good life with good humans. I don't want to think of how it felt.  I don't want to put myself into the dog's paws and imagine the situation.  That is exactly what I do when I see things.  I imagine myself being in the position and how I would feel.  I try to understand how an animal feels, where we can reason these things out, they can't.  They just see the pain, and confusion.  It makes me sick.  I will start deleting people off my friends list who post these kinds of things frequently.  It just sucks cuz one was my stepmom, one as my cousin... I don't remember who the others were.  But still... Really?!?!

I hate seeing those pictures too.  I have a account of FB, but it's because of things like this that I only go on it a couple times a year.

It's nice to see you back on the forums hon.  I've missed you and missed hearing about your kitties hugs.gif

The only thing I can offer up to you is, to tell the people who posted those pictures how you felt... They are obviously your friend and that's how you see the feed. Maybe they will understand and try other ways to get the word out. It may help.
