So, 5 am rolled around, and I am wondering where Monet's at.. he's always demanding his 5 am snuggles and he never let a night go by without it. I woke up, glanced at the clock and realized he isn't demanding our snuggle session (and I crave it since it's the only time ever he's snuggly!).
Becoming more alert, I realized he's between my legs. I push myself up to get our snuggle session started.. and what do I see?
Monet laying there with his paws curled around Cassie as if she's his teddy bear.. she spooning him and purring. My heart just melted.. it's the FIRST time ever I've ever witnessed them snuggling!! They caught me watching them and broke off the snuggles pretty quickly, but hey, 2 seconds of watching them made me happy! And it took them almost 6 months!
I had a feeling it was coming.. since for the last few nights, I've noticed Monet trying. One night he plopped down inches from Cassie, which he never did before.. but he immediately changed his mind. The next night Cassie managed to put her head on his rear for a few seconds before he got up and walked off.
The night before (this is the cute one), Cassie was asleep between my feet, Monet was further up between my legs. Monet began kneading.. and inch by inch, he slowly, ever so slowly kneaded his way down towards Cassie (how many cats actually move like this when kneading?!). He leaned in, gave her a quick nuzzle, then jumped off the bed.
I am sure Cassie is just as excited to get in a snuggle with Monet this morning as I am!!
Now, you all may share my excitement with me. Come on, I know you're cat people and know what it's like!

I hope that my two will get to that point. It's only been a month here, and Holland doesn't hiss at Daymon anymore unless she thinks he's trying to steal her food.
And that boy can sometimes forget not to invade her personal space. He can go right up to her now and sniff her head and she just sits and lets him.
