How many of us have "talkers"?

I'm just curious about how many "talking" (vocal) kitties are out there?  I have 2 big talkers, Phoebe and Morgan La Fay... Both are loud and proud. (They're just opinionated and have lots to say, that's what I tell everyone!!)  Everyone always comments about how friendly they are and how sweet it is to have such a responsive cat who answers you when you talk to them.

My other 3 are fairly vocal, too.  Piper, like many I've read about, squeaks more than meows... Except when she is mad and then she SCREAMS!!  Paige and King Arthur are more laid back.  They will answer you when you talk to them and they will tell you when they are out of food but they aren't near as chatty as Pheebs and Morgan... Those 2 could talk your ear off!! Hahaha!!

Cooper is very very quiet. They listed him as quiet on his rescue papers and they weren't kidding. He rarely makes any noise and when he does meow it is hard to hear. Jackson on the other hand is the talker. He makes all these different vocalizations. He doesn't meow a whole lot, but he makes a variety of other noises.

Not me. At all. Holland meows once in a blue moon, and Daymon will "mraw! mraw!" at me every few days or so. That's about it. They both purr when they're on my lap though. heartpump.gif

Tumbles is extremely vocal, especially when he thinks it's time to feed him.  He also loves to tell us all about his playing and potty habits.  Hannah is a moderate talker.  She makes really cute mirrups and chirrups, but only when you first see her and greet her.  Daisy doesn't talk much.

Yep, Kramer's a big talker. He'll give his trademark "Mrrroooowwww" when he's happy, sad, hungry, sleepy, lonely, etc. He also likes to sit in the bathroom and just meow for the heck of it. I guess he likes to hear the echo off the tiles. laughing02.gif

Boots doesn't meow except in the car and when he's super hungry and I'm preparing his food. But, he trills all the time, especially when he's excited. It's very very cute. biggrin.gif

Awww, keep them coming!!  Reading about all the kitties is great.  FYI- Morgan La Fay is reading them with me and just talking up a storm!

My three do talk.  They are all related though, so I guess it runs in the family.  My mom had a cat that would talk his head off.  He would actually have conversations with you.  Like, whole sentences.  The meows all sounded like different words.  Sometimes you could hear question marks at the end, and sometimes they were just statements.  He would go on and on. Ive never heard another cat do that.  He was a grey tabby, but you could tell he had some Siamese in him.  My cats also look like they have some Siamese, and Ive heard it is a breed characteristic.

Jamie is extremely vocal. He basically only shuts up when he's asleep. He says good morning, good night, where have you been?, I've used the litterbox, there's a bird, cat, dog, fox or car outside, it's time to eat, open the door, let's go for a walk, etc.. Miezi generally only meows in greeting or when she wants something to eat. She's more of a hisser than Jamie, although she's much friendlier.

I have eight cats . They all talk in their own way. Eyes, vocalily. Nobody overly loud. Either that or I am just plain use to it. That is why I have cats, for the company.

Big Punkin has a tiny squeak.  Ella never says much.  Sterling has the Siamese "voice," but doesn't use it much.  And Flambe runs around the house, trilling to himself.

Edit:  I asked Dottie, and she says the same thing I do:  I'm not sure I've ever heard Ella meow.

perhaps i have encouraged them but luna and Boy DO talk but then again i am learning some of their words and teaching some of my own:  there is 'MrrrMrr' which means food; and there is 'Sit Bum Bum Down' which is used to get Boy to sit before being served; there is 'Foo Foo' - which my friend argues is NOT a word;  there is 'sssst'  which is a 'don't do that'; yes, it's a 2 way street but i am trying to initiate a "cat whisperer"....

Currently, my Phoebe is trying to "kill" their tweety bird or make it sound off, I don't know which... Anyway, she throws it to the floor and it starts tweeting and she just tells me how smart she is and how proud she is of herself...Morgan La Fay has been chattering non stop since I got up this morning.  She and Phoebe are having private conversations here and there. She and Morgan are talking no good... They are plotting, I just know it!!

I have been at my parents for a month, visiting...Since being here, Buddy has apparently become quite the talker, running around saying "meee!" all the time, according to my roommate.

Parker speaks on command but is generally quiet, when someone is around him, that is. If he goes downstairs/upstairs and no one is there, he cries "HELLO" over and over until someone goes to him. He makes it well known that he doesn't like being alone.

Lucky gives me a little meow in the morning, or when I come home. Gus talks a lot, he loves to foloow me around the house chatting.

Freya and Wendel are chatty. They'll hold entire conversations with you.

Sybil's learning...I think they're a bad influence on her. she used to be so quiet.rolleyes.gif

Monet likes to chatter a bit after he eats. I'm never sure If he's complimenting or critiquing the food! He used to meow when he wanted to play, no more now that he has Picasso to play with too

Picasso likes to sit there and meow most time I look at her. Her voice is so quiet I have to strain to hear her. I have noticed lately she "brrrpps" more and more.. Especially when it's meal time. I am just amused watching her mouth move in a meow and nothing comes out!
